Hedda
Okay. I think I'm going to do it.
Storm
You’re going to do amazing. I believe in you.
Storm
Let me know what they say.
Hedda turned her phone off and put it back in her hiding spot. She took a couple of seconds before she stood up. Oliver and Leo had to know she wasn't actually going to the bathroom. She had taken a long time messaging Storm but she didn't care. She needed to talk to her.
Looking up in the mirror, Hedda took in her appearance. Any time she came into the bathroom, she never just looked into the mirror at herself. It was hard to do.
She didn't realize how much she had changed since being with them. Her skin looked healthier than it had in a while. She looked healthier and more alive.
Her cheeks had started to hollow out when she was staying with Michael and Monroe because she wasn't eating. But Oliver and Leo weren't letting her get by with that and she had been eating consistently, even if it was small. They always brought her snacks, so she never went hungry.
They really had taken care of her and helped her when she needed it.
Hedda placed her hands on the counter edge and gripped it. They had done so much for her, even when she was nasty to them. They were there through the thick.
She took a deep breath in. She was going to tell them. Looking back on everything, they had done a lot and were there for her constantly. Hedda didn't think they were going to go anywhere once she told them what happened.
CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
OLIVER
Leo got up from the floor and Oliver watched him. Hedda had just gone into the bathroom. He knew she wasn't actually going to go to the bathroom. She was trying to gather herself and probably decide if she was going to tell them or not.
He hoped she would tell them what happened.
Either way, they were going to be there for her. From the little they knew, she had done it to save her friend. It was either her friend or him and she decided to save her friend.
"I didn't think she would say she killed someone,” Leo whispered. “But it makes sense with everything she was murmuring after waking up from nightmares.”
Oliver or Leo should have picked up on that. They had seen several guys go through the same thing Hedda was going through.
How had they not picked up on it?
"But we're going to be there for her through everything,"Oliver said. "We've killed people before, and I have no doubt this was her first."
"We can help her through it," Leo said as he sat down on the bed.
They for sure were going to help her through it. Even if afterwards she didn't want to be with them, they would have the peace of mind knowing she would be okay.
"We'll do anything for her," Leo said. "She deserves the world and we're going to give it to her."
Oliver nodded his head and looked back at the bathroom door. He knew she had hidden her phone in there several days ago.
"We have to help her realize she is worthy of us," Leo said. "I don't like her saying that about herself."
He grunted. "I don't either. Patience while we remind her. It's not going to change overnight."
"Sometimes I wish it did, but I know it doesn't work like that."
That was an understatement of the year. But Oliver couldn't blame him for wanting that because he wanted it also.
