She shook her head. Hedda was trying to save her friend when Richard was in the room.
"Did you do it in self defense?" Oliver asked.
Hedda thought about it for a second. In a way, it was but at the same time it wasn't. Richard didn't seem like he was going to hurt her at the time. He had the gun pointed towards Storm's head and it was her or him.
She shrugged her shoulders since she didn't know how to answer the questions. Oliver really looked at her and searched her face. What was he trying to find?
Even if it was in self defense, Hedda was still a murderer. She had killed Richard and because of that, she didn't deserve Oliver and Leo. They shouldn't have her.
"I'm a murderer," she whispered, trying to get them to understand what she was. "I need to leave."
Hedda didn't want to leave, but she needed to. She needed to put as much distance between them as possible so they could move on. Find someone else to be their girl and live happily ever after with her.
"Was it him or you?" Leo asked.
She looked at him, not fully understanding what he was asking.
"Was it him or you who was going to die?" Leo asked again, clarifying it this time.
"My friend," Hedda said.
It was never her or Richard. She hadn't been in any real danger at that moment. Sure, Richard could've shot her, but he was after Storm, not her.
Oliver looked at her with a confused face. "Was it him or your friend's life on the line?"
Tears fell down her face as she remembered that day. The fear of Storm's face when she realized she was either going to die or get taken. Hedda didn't like that look on her face. Storm was innocent and should have been kept away from all of that.
But life wasn't fair and so she needed to take care of her at that moment. Hedda would do it again if they went back in time. Miles was her best friend, and she didn't want to let him down. He had deserved a happy ever after and Storm getting taken wasn't in the cards.
"Sweets?" Leo gently asked. "Was it him or your friend's life on the line?"
She nodded her head.
"Okay Sweets."
She looked at him, waiting for him to say something. Was that it? Why was he saying that?
"You're okay," Leo said.
"Was he a bad man?" Oliver asked.
She nodded her head as her attention shifted towards Oliver. She didn't know what Leo was saying and right now she didn't have the mental capacity to try and understand.
Richard was a bad man. He should've been a good guy since he worked for the FBI, but he was corrupt and made several people he was boss over follow him. Richard had alsobeen working for Ethan Montgomery who was evil. Pure evil.
Hedda knew that Richard was going to do anything to get Storm. It was delivering her to Ethan Montgomery or he was dead. But she had killed him before Ethan got the chance to do it. Hedda couldn't allow Richard to take Storm.
"So you killed him to save your friend's life?" Leo asked and she nodded her head once again.
"Yes," she whispered.
"Oh, Sweets," Leo gently said. "Without you, your friend would've been killed."
Tears rolled down Hedda's face at the mention of Storm dying. Richard was going to kill her if he couldn't take her with him. But either way, Storm was a dead person if Richard had taken her to Ethan.
Ethan wasn't a person to mess with. He was the boss of the underground. Hedda didn't know what happened there, but some of the rumors she heard were horrible.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Leo asked as he wiped away the tears on her face. "We love you no matter what."
