"How about you set her on the couch, and we can talk real quick," Leo gently said.

He didn't want to scare Hedda any more than she already was. Maybe it was best if they talked somewhere else.

Oliver walked over towards the couch and tried to let Hedda go, but she clung onto him.

Well...that didn't go as planned.

"We'll just talk here," Leo said.

Leo walked over to the end of the couch and grabbed one of the soft blankets they had. Hedda had mentioned when they were getting to know each other that she loved soft blankets. Both of them had made sure to go get some soft blankets if she ever came to their house.

"Here you go," Leo gently said as he wrapped the blanket around them.

He didn't like how she was still shaking in Oliver's arms.

Leo sat down next to Oliver and looked at Hedda for a second. He couldn't see her face since it was in Oliver's chest and he so badly wanted to.

"It's going to be okay," he whispered as he ran his hand up and down her back.

He wanted her to know that he was here for her. He wanted her to know that no matter what, both of them would keep her safe.

Part of him felt like they had failed her because she saw something that scared her. They wanted to protect her, but they couldn't protect her well if they didn't know what was wrong. They were going to wear themselves thin trying to protect her from every little thing out there.

They didn't want to keep her inside all the time, but notknowing what triggered her made it difficult for them to keep her safe.

"Did you see anything?" Leo asked as he looked at Oliver.

Oliver shook his head. "Nothing. It was all locals."

"I didn't see anything either. Maybe it could have been made up?"

Leo didn't like suggesting that, but it could be a possibility. She had gone so long without sleep and her body could be playing tricks on her as it started to get sleep back.

"She kept saying someone was dead," Oliver said. "Have any clue?"

Leo shook his head. He hadn't heard about anyone dying but they also didn't know a lot about her past. She hadn't given much up.

"No," he replied.

Hedda moved her head and both of them stared at her.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

HEDDA

Hedda could hear them talking about her. Did they think she couldn't? She had two functioning ears and they were working perfectly fine.

She moved her head to get a better position. She needed to get away from them. She didn't want to continue to hear them talk about her and ask questions. Hedda for sure didn't want to answer any questions.

She placed her hands on his chest and took a deep breath in. With all her might, she pushed against his chest, trying to get out but his arms around her didn't budge. It was like he was expecting her to try and get out of his embrace.

"Let me go!" She screamed.

She didn't want to be in his embrace anymore. She didn't want to hear them talk about her anymore.

"Calm down," he said.

"No!" she yelled. "Let me go!"
