Oliver nodded his head in agreement. It sounded like a good plan.

"Let's go wake our girl up," Oliver said as he pushed against the kitchen counter.

Both of them headed up the stairs and towards the last room. Oliver still couldn't believe that she had made her way into the room and was sleeping. Was it their scent? The bed? The dark room? He wanted to know what it was so he could help her.

He quietly opened the door and both of them slipped in. Oliver walked over towards the edge of the bed where her face was closest. His fingers twitched and before he knew it, he was cupping her face with his hand.

"Princess," he gently said. "It's time to wake up and eat."

Hedda moaned and snuggled her cheek into his hand. Oliver stared at her with wide eyes before a smile broke out on his face. She was absolutely precious.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

HEDDA

Hedda moved her cheek up against something, snuggling into it. It was so warm and rough, but it was comfortable.

She felt better. Her body and head not aching with every breath or move. She relaxed and held Lila closer to her. Everything was so warm and she never wanted to leave wherever she was. So perfect.

Hedda heard murmuring, but she didn't pay any attention to it. It was probably Lila trying to talk to her, but she wasn't having any of it. Right now, all she wanted to do was fall back asleep and never wake up.

A gentle hand landed on her back, rubbing in a small circular motion.

"Heddy," the voice whispered. "It's time to wake up so you can eat something."

She groaned right as her stomach grumbled. She didn't want to wake up right now. Not when she was having a good dream. Hedda just wanted to be left alone. She snuggled herface back into the warm rough thing and let out a sigh of content.

It was perfect.

Another person chuckled and she stilled. Two voices. Her eyes flew open and she shot up in bed, staring right at Oliver in front of her.

Shit.

She had fallen asleep on the bed when she promised herself she wouldn't. Why did she do that?

"Did you find my hand comfortable?" Oliver asked.

Her eyes went even more wide at the news. She was snuggling up to his hand? What was she thinking?

"I'll let you use my hand to snuggle with any time you want. You just let me know," he said and smiled at her.

Hedda's cheeks went red, and she scrambled off the bed. Her foot got caught on the bedsheet and she fell forward, but she quickly caught herself. Shaking her leg, she got it free and before Oliver or Leo could say anything, she dashed across the room.

Shit. Double shit.

Her eyes were trained on Oliver and Leo who stood in front of her. Why did she have to fall asleep?

"So I see you did some exploring while we were gone," Leo said. "Did you find anything you liked?"

Before any of them could say or do anything, Hedda ran out of the room. Her heart was beating so fast as she ran down the hallway and towards her room. She needed to get somewhere and hide before they found her.

"Hedda!" Leo called after her, but she didn't pay any attention to it.

Oliver and Leo had told her she could go anywhere in the house, but what if they meant everywhere but that room? Maybe they thought she wouldn't explore so they didn't have to say anything.

She found herself hiding behind some clothes in her closet. Maybe they won't think that she hid here. Maybe they'll just walk right by and continue to look for her.

But luck wasn't on her side. It never was.
