She shook her head, but she knew she couldn’t do anything.
“You’re going to be okay,” he whispered as he sat down on the bed.
Her eyes pooled with tears. Papa and Daddy had told her that so many times and she had started to believe it. Things were okay but then Rogan had to take her.
“This might sting a little,” Angelo said.
She watched as he dabbed something on her arms, but she didn’t feel the sting. Had she lost all feeling as well? Was she dying from heartache?
Angelo gave her a worried look when she didn’tflinch or make a noise.
“I didn’t want this,” she whispered. “I just want Papa and Daddy. That’s all I want.”
Rogan growled. “You won’t see them again.”
The tears ran down her face. She was never going to forget Papa and Daddy. She wanted to see them again.
“Let me put the bandages on and then you’ll be all good,” Angelo said.
“Can you fix a broken heart?” Her voice cracked at the end. “It hurts so much.”
Her heart ached so much. Was she having a heart attack or was it just her being heartbroken?
“You’ll get over it,” Rogan said.
“I’ll check your heart. Make sure it sounds okay,” Angelo said.
Was he worried she was going to die?
“Broken hearts are very serious,” Angelo said.
He walked towards his bag and got the stethoscope before coming back to her. He placed it on her, and she took several deep breaths in.
“It sounds good to me. Strong and healthy.”
She shook her head. It hurt so much.
Rogan opened his mouth but before he could say anything, an alarm went off.
“Shit,” he said. “Angelo watch her.”
Hedda watched as her brother left the room, leaving her with Angelo.
“Please,” she begged. “Help me.”
Maybe she could get Angelo to help her. They had always gotten along with each other.
“Sorry squirt,” he gently said. “I can’t go against Rogan’sorders. He’s just doing what he thinks is best for you.”
She shook her head. He didn’t know what was best for her. He had no clue, and it was showing.
Angelo gave her a small smile. “I know it’s tough right now. I know it sucks and all you want to do is die, but it’s going to get better.”
She shook her head again. It wasn’t going to get any better. She was always going to feel like this if she was away from Papa and Daddy.
“Soon you’ll forget about everything, and you’ll go back to your normal self.”
“No,” she whispered.
