They didn’t like that she didn't want to leave the house. It wasn’t healthy apparently. She agreed that it wasn’t healthy, but it helped keep her calm and sane. She knew no one could get into their house.

She felt safe.

But out here, she felt like a target. Something wasn’t right but she didn’t know what it was.

“We talked about this, Princess,” Daddy said. “It’s good for us to go out and get fresh air. It’s good to go have some human interaction.”

“I get enough fucking human interaction with you guys,” she replied.

“Language,” Papa said.

She let out a sigh. They were trying to cut down on her swearing, but it wasn’t fucking working. It was part of who she was, and she wasn’t going to change that.

“You need other human interaction. We can’t be the only people you see and interact with,” Daddy said.

“Monroe can come over to the house,” Hedda said.

She wasn’t opposed to people coming over. She would rather have that than go outside and be exposed.

Who wanted to be in danger?

“No one is out there to get you,” Papa said.

“How do you know that?” She asked, looking up at him.

“Because we know the people walking down the street. They are locals. People who wouldn’t hurt a fly.”

Just because they knew them didn’t mean they didn't work for Richard or his bosses. It could be anyone and they wouldn’t know.

“You’re safe with us,” Daddy said. “We’ll keep you safe.”

“I want to go home,” she whispered.

It was her home now. It had shocked her the first time she thought about it, but it felt so right. They were her home. She couldn’t imagine life without them now.

“Nothing is going to happen,” Papa said. “Now, do you want to go to the cupcake place first or the ice cream place? I think we should get both.”

She looked over at Daddy. He was the more strict one with her diet. He didn’t want her to have too many sweets and ruin her next meal.

“I think that’s a great idea,” Daddy said.

Hedda was hoping he wouldn’t agree. The less places they went to, the less time she had to be out in the open.

“We’re going to both no matter what,” Papa said. “You just get to pick which one we go to first.”

She let out a sigh and slumped in her seat. There was no way out of this. She was going to have to go out into the open either way.

Was she ready for this mentally? She had no clue, but she had to trust that Papa and Daddy would be there for her.

“Sweets?” Papa asked.

“Cupcake,” she whispered.

Part of her wanted to puke right there with the nerves flowing through her body.

“Wait for me,” Daddy said.

Hedda clasped her hands together, trying to get them to stop shaking. She didn’t know if she would be able to make it through this. What if she actually puked? Would they be mad at her? Would they be embarrassed?
