Oliver stared at her and sighed. "We want to understand."
"I said fuck you and fucking no!" She screamed.
She wasn't going to talk to them about this. Sure, she felt a little lighter telling someone else that she had killed someone. It was like a weight off of her shoulders.
Hedda didn't know what to fully feel. Should she feel a little lighter? Should she feel bad about spurting that out? Was it okay to feel lighter after telling people she killed someone?
It was all so frustrating which made her angry. This was probably one of the reasons Rogan told her not to show much emotion. To not give anything away.
It was all confusing and she didn't want to feel it anymore. She didn't want to have all of these emotions inside of her. Hedda only wanted to feel angry because she knew what that felt like. But this relieved stuff, she had no clue if it was okay or not.
"I know you probably have a lot of emotions going through you right now and they are valid," Leo gently said. "We can talk about it and get through all of it. We want to help you and be there for you."
Hedda shook her head. She didn't want that. They should be mad at her, disgusted for what she did. Why were they being so caring?
This wasn't how it was supposed to go. They weresupposed to be disgusted, not want anything to do with her, and throw her out. That was what she thought they were going to do. She was hoping they would, so she could go disappear somewhere and die alone.
That was what she deserved.
She didn't deserve everything they wanted to give her. She didn't deserve to be taken care of, loved, and cherished.
"Let me go," she angrily said.
"I think deep down you want to break down and tell us everything. But I think you are afraid and think you'll be weak," Leo said as he continued to hold onto her.
Hedda screwed her eyes shut. She didn't want to hear those words he just spoke. What did he know of her feelings? He wasn't her! How did he know what she was feeling and what she wasn't?
He didn't.
But at the same time maybe he was right in what he said. Maybe she did want to break down even more and let them take care of her. She definitely knew she thought she would be weak if she did that. Rogan had instilled it in her that she would.
"You aren't weak and just because you cry and break down doesn't mean you're weak either," Oliver gently said. "You're anything but weak."
Oliver had lightly touched her face, making her head jerk back and her eyes open. She wasn't expecting him to touch her. Especially not after everything she said.
"Let me go!" she said again, trying to wiggle in his arms.
"You can do this all day, but I'm not letting you go," Leo replied.
She let out a noise of protest.
"It's okay to lean on us," Leo said. "We're here for you. We want to help you in any way we can. Be your rocks that you lean on or a shoulder to cry on."
"We want to take care of you and help you be the best version of yourself," Oliver said.
Hedda sniffled and closed her eyes. She didn't need to cry again. Why were they saying all these sweet things to her? They shouldn't be.
She furiously started to wipe away the tears on her face. There couldn't be any evidence that she was starting to cry again. Though, Oliver and Leo could see what she was doing so it didn't really matter.
But it did to her. It mattered to Hedda because it was a sign of weakness to cry. Especially in front of people.
"No," she whispered as she shook her head.
In reality though, Hedda wanted to tell them and break down in front of them even further. She wanted to be taken care of by them. But she didn't want to be weak.
She wanted to prove to Rogan and everyone else that she wasn't weak. That she was a strong woman who could do anything.
"You're not weak. You're a strong, beautiful woman who is smart," Leo said.
