"Yeah," Oliver replied. "She's channeling all of heremotions into anger. Lashing out at anyone and everyone who tries to help her out. I know Michael talked about her snapping at him and Monroe several times and being rude."
He nodded his head. Michael had told them that and the fact that she wasn't taking care of herself. How did he let it get this bad? Was she like this before she came to Missouri or was it while she was staying here? Why didn't Michael do anything about it or talk to them?
Leo didn't want to blame everything on Michael because he knew he was busy with the clinic, while also working at the club, and being Monroe's Daddy. He had taken less hours at the club, and the clinic, to spend more time with Monroe.
He was jealous that Michael could do that. Leo so badly wanted to spend time with Hedda like that. And maybe eventually they would get there, but he didn't know how long that was going to be. No matter what, Leo and Oliver were going to wait for her and help her get better.
She was their Middle, the person they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with. Even if it took another ten years to get her back to normal, not angry at everyone, they would wait that long.
"I keep having to remind myself that she doesn’t really mean what she says," Leo said. "She's said some pretty nasty things."
"And spitting on me," Oliver added. "But she's just trying to protect herself and push everyone away. It normally works, but not with us. She'll soon realize that."
Leo nodded his head. Hedda was going to realize that they were here to stay for good. That they weren't going anywhere in her life.
"We need to be on the same page about how to handle everything with Hedda," Leo said. "Not that we've never been. We've gotten pretty good with this."
"Patience with her is what's going to make a difference," Oliver said. "Letting her know that we're here for her and aren't going anywhere. At some point it'll break through her thick skull, and she'll understand."
Leo couldn't help but chuckle at the comment about her thick skull. When Hedda thought something, it was hard to change her mind about it. They had witnessed that several times before the incident happened.
"Shedoeshave a thick skull," Leo agreed. "But that's one thing that makes her Hedda, our Heddy."
He loved that about her, but it could also be irritating.
"I just want our girl back," Leo said.
"I do too. Patience," Oliver replied.
"I want to know what happened to her. I so badly want to know what happened to her to make her this way. It must have been something big," Leo rubbed his hand down his face. "I just can't think of what she could have gone through to make her like this."
"We'll talk to her brother."
Leo sighed. "Is that a good idea? Her brother is the head of the Ricci Crime Family. I don't think he even knows we took his sister."
Leo didn't want to tip off Rogan that they had taken his sister. They didn't want him to take her back, not when they finally got her.
Oliver leaned into the couch and sighed. No one was telling them anything and they were sick of it. They wantedto know what happened to Hedda so they could help her. But maybe this was their sign to be patient and show Hedda that they truly wanted to be with her.
"I'm going to go get some food," Leo said.
He didn't know what they were going to have for dinner, but he was going to have to figure something out. He stood up but, before he could do anything, a scream filled the house.
Hedda.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
HEDDA
Hedda was standing in Miles' office and was talking to Storm.
"Do you think I should meet up with them?" Hedda asked.
She had been talking to two guys, twins, who wanted to be her Daddies. Hedda was so unsure if she should meet up with them in person. It was one thing to talk to them online and FaceTime, but to actually meet in person scared her. What if she messed up and they didn't want anything to do with her?
They had gotten close the past several weeks and she was excited to see where things were going to go.
"I think you should," Storm replied. "I think you really should."
