"Thank you," Hedda replied.
"I knew they were for you," Monroe said. "I just had a feeling and I'm so glad it worked out for you."
Hedda wrapped her arms around her quickly. Without Storm and Monroe, she wouldn't have met her Papa and Daddy. She wouldn't have found her happiness.
"Thank you," she whispered before Monroe pulled away.
"I've got someone on the phone for you," Papa said. "Sorry to take you away."
She grabbed the phone and held it up to her ear. Who could it be?
"Hi Hedda," Rogan's voice came through the phone.
Her eyes teared up. He wasn't able to make it.
"Hi," she whispered, emotions clogged up in her throat.
She didn't realize how much she would have wanted him to be here for this.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to come," Rogan said. "I was trying my hardest but something came up."
"It's okay," she replied.
"No, it's not. And I'm sorry about that. I promise to make it for the wedding. I'll walk you down the aisle."
The tears streamed down her face and she tried so hard not to sniffle. He didn't like it when she cried and she was trying to respect that. But it was so hard.
"Okay, pinky promise?" she asked.
"Pinky promise," Rogan replied. "No matter what, I'll come for it. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Thank you."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
Rogan hung up the phone and Hedda took several deep breaths. She hoped he would keep good on his promise and come to the wedding. She didn't know what she would do if he didn't come.
"Are you okay, Princess?" Daddy asked.
She nodded her head and wrapped her arms around him. Hedda didn't really feel like socializing right now. She felt bad since everyone was there for her but having the phone call with Rogan took everything out of her.
"Do you want to go to the office real quick?" Daddy asked.
She nodded her head and Daddy picked her up.
"We'll be right back," Daddy said.
"I'm coming," Papa said.
Hedda buried her head in Daddy's shoulder as he walked towards his office.
Daddy sat her down on the couch.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asked.
"I just miss him," she whispered.
