"We do, but Echo doesn't have a Daddy," Papa said.
Hedda's eyebrows went up. Shit. Her head swung and looked at the doorway. The man wasn't there anymore.
Shit.
If he wasn't her Daddy, then who was he? Why was he looking at Echo?
Hedda wanted to ask Papa and Daddy who the man was, but she didn't think they saw him.
Maybe she should go after Echo and ask her if she knew.
"Are you sure?" Hedda asked. "That she doesn't have a Daddy?"
"Yes, we're sure. She hasn't mentioned it to any of the other Little. Echo also hasn't brought any Daddy with her to the club," Daddy said.
Something didn't sit right with Hedda. Who was this man? Why was he looking at Echo like that? Did anyone else see him?
"Papa?" Hedda asked. She went to say something else but stopped herself.
She didn't want to worry Papa or Daddy. She'll just make sure to remember to talk to Echo before they leave the party.
"Yes, Sweets?" Papa asked.
"Nothing."
Papa gave her a weird look, but she gave him a smile. She didn't want him to worry about anything.
"Are you okay?" Daddy asked. "Feeling okay? Are you getting too overwhelmed?"
She shook her head. "No, Daddy."
Maybe she was, but she had only met one person. Therewere so many other people to meet and she didn't want to disappoint anyone.
"Sofia is coming over," Papa said.
Hedda's heart started to beat faster as Sofia walked closer to her. Was everything going to go okay? Was Sofia going to like her?
She wanted to get along with everyone. They all seemed super close. What if she didn't get along with her?
"Hi!" Sofia said as she walked up. "I'm Sofia! It's so nice to finally meet you."
"Hi, Sofia," Hedda replied. "It's nice to meet you as well."
She clung onto Papa and Daddy's hands harder. She had never really liked meeting new people, no matter how outgoing she was. It took a lot out of her.
"I've been so excited to meet you!" Sofia's excited voice filled the loud room. "We definitely need to hang out soon!"
Hedda gave her a smile.
"I would love that," Hedda said. "Maybe we could hang out with Charlotte as well. I said I was going to hang out with her at some point and Echo."
Her smile got bigger.
"But if you want to hang out one on one that's fine as well," Hedda rushed out.
She didn't want to make it seem like the only option was in a group. What if Sofia didn't like big groups?
"That sounds great!" Sofia said. "I'm down for either! And I know you're a Middle but that doesn't matter to me. Little, Middle, Daddy or Mommy. Anything is fine."
