Hedda held her tongue inside of her mouth. She didn't need to get into any trouble right now.
"Go, Princess," Daddy said. "Angelo is waiting for you."
CHAPTER FORTY-SIX
OLIVER
Oliver and Leo stood up and faced Rogan. What did he want to talk to them about?
"Yes?" Leo asked. "What can we help you with?"
"I want to talk about Hedda," Rogan said.
Something didn't feel right. Oliver was still a little wary around Rogan. He had taken their girl and locked her up. Who knows what else he had done?
It was unacceptable.
"You aren't taking her from us," Oliver said. "We aren't giving her up. She is ours and we are hers."
"You'll have to kill us before you can take her again," Leo said. "And I don't think Hedda will be happy if you kill us."
Oliver would die for Hedda and he knew Leo was the same. They didn't want to live without her.
"We love her," Oliver said. "We'll fight to show you that we care about her. We'll show you that we will take good care of her."
Maybe Oliver was jumping the gun. He didn't knowwhat Rogan wanted to talk about, but he needed to get that off of his chest. He needed Rogan to know they weren't going down without a fight.
"We're never going to leave her," Oliver continued to speak. "She means the world to us."
Rogan sighs. Maybe Oliver was right to jump the gun and say what he needed to say.
"It's obvious she loves you two," Rogan said. "I watched you guys for a couple of minutes, and she really does."
Oliver and Leo stared at Rogan, waiting for him to continue to speak.
"I never thought she would love a person, let alone two, like she does you guys," Rogan said. "I wasn't prepared for it. I figured she would be happy to be alone and around family, but I was wrong."
Hedda was strong willed and liked to do things on her own, but deep down she wanted to be taken care of and loved.
"I don't like that she'll be moving to Missouri. I don't like it at all, but I also don't want her to be miserable. She cares about you and you two moving up here won't help her."
Oliver nodded his head. They had considered moving to New York and told Hedda, but it wouldn't be their first choice. They hadn't been here long, but Hedda wasn't happy as she was in Missouri.
Well, the last few days before she got taken, she had been happier. And the little joy that flew across her face as Charlotte and Hedda talked. Oliver knew Charlotte and Hedda would get along. He also knew Hedda would get along withthe other Littles. Even though she wasn't a Little, they were still good people to be around.
Hedda needed friends and Oliver didn't know if she had many here that weren't Rogan's employees. He knew of Storm but that was it.
"I don't like you two either, but I'm willing to work on it for Hedda's sake," Rogan said.
Oliver kept his face neutral, but inside he was shocked. He didn't think he would ever hear Rogan say that.
"I wasn't prepared for my sister to find anyone. But I've seen the way you have interacted with Hedda and treated her," Rogan said. "It's great and I know you guys care about her."
"We love her," Leo said. "We love her with our lives."
Rogan blinked several times. Was he not expecting them to say they loved her? It was the truth.
"Anyways," Rogan said. "It's great that you guys care about her and treat her right but that doesn't mean I like it."
