Finn stood in front of her behind the counter, and he looked at her for a second. She was so precious, and he was lucky to have her as his little girl, his little cupcake. She made him feel extremely lucky and blessed to have her in his life.

“Move in with me,” Finn said.

He thought about sugarcoating it and explaining everything, but he didn't think that was the wisest thing right now. He didn't want to give her mixed signals or confuse her when he was trying to explain it.

“I love you, and I want you to fully move in with me. You spent several days at my house, and it feels alive when you're here. It feels like home for the first time.”

The apple fell from Charlotte's hand as she stared at him in shock.

“I know I just dropped a bombshell of information, but I needed you to know. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to wake up and have you in my arms, put you down for naps during the day, make sweet long love to you at night and during the day. I want you all to myself because I don't share.”

Her mouth hung open as Finn continued to talk. He wanted to lay everything out there so that when she made her decision, she knew everything. Finn didn't want told anything back because it was about time that he told her everything.

“I want to spoil you rotten until we get old. I want to love you unconditionally the rest of our lives. I want you to move into my house because without you, it doesn't feel like home, it feels like an empty house,” Finn continued to speak. “Before I met you, I never wanted to come home because it was empty. I worked long hours so that I had an excuse not to come home. Then I saw you lying on the floor of the club, coloring, and I knew that you were mine. I knew that you were it for me, and I was right because when I brought you here when you were sick, it instantly felt like a home. It didn't feel empty and cold but alive.”

Tears had started to stream down Charlotte's face, and Finn wanted to wrap her up in his arms, but he needed to get everything out. He needed her to hear everything he said before he hugged her, kissed her.

“I know we've only known each other for a couple of months, but it feels so right. My dad used to say that you'll know when you know. And I know that you're the one for me.”

Finn leaned forward and kissed her forehead. He could tell that he was starting to overwhelm her, but he needed to get this out so that she could think over it. Finn wasn't going to require an answer tonight because he knew that she needed time to think about it.

It was a big step, and he didn't want to rush her into anything. Yes, he did want her to move in with him as soon as possible, but he wanted her to move in because she wanted to, not because he wanted it.

It was a delicate balance because Finn knew that sometimes Charlotte wanted to please him. And while he loved that, he also didn't want to force her into anything.

“You can have time to think about it because I don't want to rush you into anything. I just wanted to let you know how I’m feeling toward you. I didn't want to keep that I love you to myself anymore or that I want you to move in with me.”

Charlotte nodded her head, and Finn wiped away the tears on her cheeks.

“I-I don't know what to say,” Charlotte whispered.

“It's okay not to say anything. I don't expect you to give me an answer right now or know what to say. It's a lot.” Finn walked around the counter and sat right next to her.

Charlotte got off of her seat and climbed into his lap. He felt a little relief that she didn't just leave the house because she was overwhelmed or go to her room, but she decided to sit in his lap.

It was a good sign, or, well, he hoped it was a good sign.

“Daddy,” Charlotte said as she snuggled into his body.

Finn wrapped his arms around her body and held her close to him. He loved that she fit next to his body so well. It felt so right to have her in his arms, and he enjoyed every second of it.

They sat in each other's embrace for a while, just enjoying being together. Finn wanted this for the rest of his life. He could envision them sitting on the back porch, Charlotte on his lap as they rocked and relaxed.

That's what he wanted, that's what he'd always wanted. He didn't know that a year ago, but when he laid eyes on Charlotte, he immediately knew that was what he'd always craved, always wanted.

“Daddy. I love you too. I think I've loved you for a little while,” Charlotte whispered.

Finn's heart skipped a beat, and he couldn't help the smile that spread across his face. His little cupcake loved him back.

“I don't know about moving in with you yet. I need to think about that. It's a…it's a big step,” she whispered and buried her head into his chest.

“That's okay, little cupcake.”

Charlotte moved her body around, so her chest was pressed up against his chest, and her legs were on either side of his hips. Finn loved that she was comfortable enough to do that because when they first got together, she wasn't.

Finn held her close and rubbed up and down her back. He wanted to spend the next couple minutes just holding her and enjoying that they both love each other.

Charlotte loved him.
