“Charlotte, can you look at me?” Mac asked.
She shook her head and turned around. She didn’t need to talk to him right now. All she wanted to do was take the cash and leave.
Before she could grab the money Jonah was holding out for her, her body stilled.
“Charlie?” Finn asked.
How did he know she was here? She didn’t tell him that today was her day off and that she was here.
“Charlie, you can’t ignore me,” he said again.
She hated that he called her that right now. Him calling her Charlie made her want to run into his arms and tell him everything that was going wrong. She wanted him to take care of her.
Charlotte slowly turned around and looked at Finn who stood right next to Mac. Did Mac tell him that she was here?
“Mac texted me and said you were crying in the shop. What’s wrong, little one?” Finn asked.
She shook her head. She didn’t want to tell him anything, but the look he gave her made her rethink it. He wasn’t her Daddy yet, but he still had an effect on her.
“I was selling some of my s-stuffies to the club,” she softly spoke.
She was hoping he wouldn’t have her repeat it because Charlotte knew if she did, she would break down.
“Why?” he asked.
“I d-don’t need them anymore.” She looked everywhere but in his eyes.
“Here’s your money,” Jonah said again.
Charlotte turned around and grabbed the money, not looking at what used to be her stuffies at all. She watched as Finn walked over to Jonah and whispered something in his ear, Finn’s eyes on Charlotte the whole time.
She felt uncomfortable and started to walk toward the exit of the club. Right now, Charlotte just wanted to go home and lay in her bed. She didn’t want to do anything but mope around because she had just lost a couple stuffies.
“Don’t you dare walk outside this club,” Finn said.
Charlotte immediately stopped walking. She wasn’t going to leave without saying goodbye to him first. Well, she might have left if she felt like she was going to break at any moment and burst into tears.
“I’ll see you later,” Mac said. “It was nice seeing you, Charlotte.”
Finn grabbed her hand and turned her around.
“See you, Mac,” he said before he turned back to Charlotte. “Can we talk?”
Charlotte nodded her head because she did want to talk to him. She wanted to bring up them trying out being in a dynamic together, him being her Daddy. She had thought about it all morning as she went through her stuffies, and she was sure she wanted this.
“I—” she cleared her throat. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
“We can talk in my office, or we can talk in the little coffee room we have,” Finn said.
“Coffee room?”
Charlotte could use some coffee right now. She started to feel her body getting tired after crying for a while. Finn led her to the room and pulled out a seat for her.
“How do you like your coffee?” he asked. “Don’t get used to drinking coffee. I would normally say no, but I think you could use it after that hard moment.”
She was grateful that he could see that. Charlotte knew he couldn’t control if she had coffee or not, but at the same time, she thought that he might already know what she wanted to talk about.
“Just a little cream and sugar,” she said.
