ME:Are you okay or not?
TREG:I am. This saves me from telling Grina that I signed up for that new T4T dating site. You remember last time I mentioned it she said it was reverse something or another because they don’t allow cis people.
ME:Eh, she was jealous of the possibilities on there. That would be like straight people trying to date on a gay app. I’m sure they do, but they’re fucking idiots. Any luck yet?
TREG:Talking to a few people but nothing big to talk about. I don’t know what I’m expecting. I just want a bigclick at some point along the way. If this one doesn’t work out, I might try Alpha 2 Alpha or something next.
ME:I hope you find what you’re looking for.
TREG:Me too. Have you made me a god parent yet?
ME:Hopefully! Oh! Shit! That reminds me! Did you include pregnancy tests in the baskets?
TREG:One pregnancy test. One in each basket felt like overkill. Lol
ME:Thank you! I have to eat breakfast now before Kirk spanks me.
TREG:I think you’re joking but if you’re not – tell him he’s only allowed to spank you if you like it lol
ME:Who said I don’t?
“How’s Treg?” Kirk asked when I sat my phone aside.
“They’re surprisingly good. Dating apps and all that,” I said, filling Kirk in on the details. “I’m relieved. I would’ve gone and soothed their broken heart, but I’d rather stay home with you if I can. How much longer do you think the hospital will let you stay home?”
Kirk took his time before he finally answered my question as if he had to consider it from every angle.
“I have a question for you before I answer that,” he said.
“I don’t know if I’m pregnant yet, Kirk,” I laughed.
“I know that!” he chuckled too.
“Okay, I’ll be serious,” I said, cutting into my omelet. “What’s your question?”
“Would it be overbearing if I took your pregnancy off because it could be high risk?” Kirk asked, choosing his words carefully.
It was my turn to consider his question. Plenty of diabetic wolves had pups. It probably happened every day, in fact.
“I’m not saying it will be,” Kirk said, picking up on my thoughts over our mating link.
“You want to be that cautious?” I asked.
“Too cautious?”
“Maybe but if it means we get to spend more time together I’m not going to complain,” I said. “Even if you worked, though, I’d still take care of myself when you weren’t around.”
“I know that” Kirk said, his voice softening. “You’re going to be a wonderful dad. I think we both will be, or I wouldn’t have tried so hard to put a pup in you.”
“Hey now!” I blushed and kicked him under the table.
He caught my ankle with his and flashed me a smile that made me instantly forgive him even if he was trying to get laid again. I couldn’t blame him. Things between us were hot and raw and --- Stop! I made myself stop before my wolf flipped over and lifted his tail again.
“So was that a yes?” Kirk asked. “For the taking off your pregnancy.”
“Yes, but will they let you?”
“Oh, they’ll let me. They have to by pack by-law. If my mate needs me for a medical reason I have the right, honor, and privilege of being there.”
