CHAPTER ONE
Hayden
There was nothing like an out of town business trip to make an omega horny as hell.
Not because of the work, of course. I enjoyed my job, even though it was as ordinary vanilla as jobs could possibly get. Having only just graduated from college, I was your basic admin with a hunger to work his way up at a company that sold insurance to high net-worth individuals. Completely ordinary stuff.
“But at least it gives me the opportunity to go to conferences, like this one in Port Lucia,” I told my brother, Simon, as the two of us drove to the airport.
Well, Simon drove while I played with my phone, checking a certain listing I’d put up on the Dark Fantasies Club app before heading out the door.
Simon peeked at me from the driver’s seat, then focused dutifully on the road. “You know Dad and Papa don’t like youtraveling alone for work,” he said, then added, “They don’t like you working at all.”
“Not true,” I said, still swiping through the app, pausing on a few likely alpha profiles here and there. “They don’t mind me working. They wouldn’t have paid for an omega to go to college if they didn’t want me to work.”
Simon’s face pinched. “They sent me through college, too, and I’m an omega,” he said in a gloomy voice.
Two things about his comment struck me. One, Simon was two years older than me, but my dear brother had an unmistakable naiveté about him that made him seem several years younger than me. It really showed in that comment. Two, Simon wasn’t at all happy about being sent to college. I knew he wasn’t happy with his job as a paralegal either.
Simon wasn’t like me. He was an artist, one of the most talented I’d ever known. On top of that, he was a textbook submissive omega. Why our parents hadn’t found him an alpha husband as soon as he was of age instead of sending him to school so he could work at their law office was beyond me. It was like Dad and Papa had mixed up the personalities of their two omega sons and they treated us the way the other one should have been treated.
It wouldn’t have been the only thing our parents got wrong.
“I know a trip like this would be a nightmare for you,” I said, grinning at my brother, “but I’m more excited about it than you could know.”
Simon sent me a wary sideways look as he pulled onto the highway that would take us to Barrington’s airport. We’d driven this way a lot in the last year, since my best friend, Ari, had moved to the Caribbean with his ex-cop, alpha husband, Samson. I flew down to visit them as much as I could, although that had gotten harder since I’d started working.
“How many days are you staying in Port Lucia after the conference?” Simon asked me.
I grinned, stretched out in the passenger seat as though already priming myself for the fantasy I hoped to indulge in, and said, “Three days. I’m taking the red-eye home on Monday night.”
Simon sent me another worried look. “So you’ll be back Tuesday morning next week?”
“Yep,” I said. “Back home, stuffed full of corporate knowledge and thoroughly satisfied with all the teambuilding and training I’ll have received.”
Simon totally knew what I was actually saying and made a disapproving sound, which made me laugh.
“Oh, come on, Simon,” I teased him. “You can’t be as sweet and innocent as all that. I know you’re not a virgin.”
Simon kept his eyes firmly on the highway ahead of us, but his face flared red. He didn’t say anything, but I knew about the alpha he’d dated in college, the swanky one who came from money and always wore suits to class, even though everyone else was in jeans. That alpha had taken Simon through his first two heats, and even though it hadn’t worked out and they’d broken up over a year ago, I happened to know that the ESAs Simon had hired from Bangers & Mash for his last two heats had worn suits when they met up to do the deed. By Simon’s request.
My naïve older brother had a suit fetish, and probably more to go along with that.
“Look. Port Lucia is a beautiful little town on the beach out west,” I explained. “It’s a family vacation spot. I might just see the sights, go to the theme parks, and eat all the local food.”
Simon actually tore his eyes off the road to give me a flat look. “You’re going to hook up with someone through that creepy Dark Fantasies Club, aren’t you,” he said, looking ahead again. “You’ve been scrolling through the app since I picked you up.”
I sighed and closed the app and my phone so that I could give Simon my full attention.
“You know I have a kinky streak a mile wide, Si,” I said frankly.
Simon blushed even deeper.
“You do, too, admit it.”
“I do not!” Simon protested.
“Oh, come on,” I laughed, my affection for my brother brimming. “I’ve caught you watching some pretty intense porn before. Have you ever actually been tied up or restrained while being fucked?”
