“I know,” he cut in. “I’m sorry. I had to be like that. Had to say those things. I needed Jamie to think I was on his side.”
I nodded and took a deep breath, taking in his heavenly scent. “I get it,” I murmured. “I just can’t believe you found me.”
He drew back and stared down at me, brows gathering together. “Of course I found you,” he replied. “You’re mine. I wasn’t going to let you go.”
A giddy rush passed through me, and I smiled faintly. “I just realized I didn’t say it back,” I said. “I mean… when you said you love me.”
Logan shook his head. “You don’t have to. I don’t expect you to love me after all the shit I’ve done.”
“But I do. I love you,” I said. I swallowed thickly. “I think… I think part of me always has.”
He returned my smile, eyes glimmering with pride and adoration. “Good,” he said, voice gruff with emotion. “Now go and get dressed. I’m taking you home.”
