“I can’t remember the last time one of the guys fingered me,” she says, distracted.
“Really?” Waffles meows, annoyed that I’ve stopped playing. I toss the jingling ball again.
“When we try to stay up late to have some adult fun after the kids go to bed, we usually end up falling asleep on the couch.”
I drop Waffle’s ball and switch to the feathers attached to a pole. He rolls onto his back and bats at them half-heartedly. “You could leave the kids with one of their grandmothers and go spend a weekend away somewhere.”
She makes a thoughtful sound. “We should. We haven’t had a mini vacation alone since the baby was born. Ooh, Brian just got home. I’m gonna go ask him what he thinks. Call me on Monday.”
“Bye.” I hang up and focus on Waffles, playing with him until he grows bored. I put his toys away in his basket, then unpack my books from the store. It takes me an hour to decide how I want to rearrange my shelves to display the pretty books in their fancy slipcase.
When I’m done, my mind drifts back to our date. I can’t help but smile.
I wonder if he’s found my little present yet…
Chapter Seven
LIAM
“How’d it go?”Gabriel asks.
I shut the door and drop the baby books onto our kitchen table. “It went great. I think she’s perfect for us.” Then I pull the balled-up perfumed underwear from my pocket and toss them at him.
He catches them out of the air. “Nice. These are cute.”
“She’s coming over for dinner on Monday. Is Matthew home?” I glance around the apartment, but don’t see or hear him.
“No. He’s stuck at the bank. They’re short a manager so he’s covering another branch.”
“Hmm.” I turn my attention back to the pink underwear that smells like her. “What do you think?”
Gabriel shrugs. “You know my sense of smell isn’t as good as yours. If you think she’s a good fit, then I believe you.”
I pull Gabriel against me, rubbing his back. “I want you two to like her too or else it’s not going to work. You know you both get a say.”
He smiles, amused. “Of course we do. I never thought we wouldn’t. You know, I haven’t seen you this worked up in along time. She’s really got you going. Because she’s pregnant? I’ve read that it drives alphas wild.” He wraps an arm around my hips and tugs me against him. “Is that it? Is it because she’s carrying our baby?”
“It’s not just that. She’s pretty. Funny, in a sly, sarcastic way. Her scent drives me nuts. And pregnancy is making her tits huge.” I can’t wait for her milk to come in. For her nipples to drip with it and her belly to swell. “The books said she’ll get hornier in a few weeks. All the blood flow to her pelvis.” I waggle my brows at him.
“And you’re going to help her with that little problem?” Gabriel grins.
“I hope we all will.”
“Matthew may need some time,” he says. “But I’m happy to help our omega with her urges. Show me these books.”
I dump the books out of the bag. Gabriel looks through them, then picks up the dirty novel. Her book. “What’s this?” he asks.
“She wrote it. She’s an author.”
“Really?” He cracks it open to a random page, his eyebrows rising. “Oh.” He grins and flips to another section. “This is raunchy.”
“She let me finger her in the store,” I tell him, my cock jerking at the memory. Of her breathy little noises. How hard she tried to stay quiet. How much she soaked my hand. How her thighs trembled and she leaned on me for support. Trusting me to catch her. Protect her while I made her feel good.
Gabriel laughs and puts the book down. “It’s always the quiet, bookish girls who are the filthiest in bed. Is that how you got the panties?”
“No. I got those in the car. She blew me while I drove her home.”
“Caralho,” he says, chuckling. “I can’t wait to really meet this girl. You can’t have all the fun, you know?”
