“Oh, Ikina.” I hug her and shake Jackur’s hand. We’ve only just met, and we’re not at a hugging stage yet. Also, it feels wrong to hug another male at this time.
Kynan would be jealous and do wicked things to me if I told him I hugged Jackur.
Maybe I should tell him I did anyway when we meet up…
Realization strikes, making me jerk back a little. “Oh, no, the deal! I have to go. I need to tell Kynan I love him.” Otherwise, there will be no wicked sex at all, jealously driven or not.
“I must go. I need to see him. Otherwise, he’ll think I don’t love him.”
Caedor is a day’s swim from here.
Ikina laughs and playfully pushes me in the direction of Wasatell. “Then go and bring him back to the sea so I can meet him.”
“I will,” I call out, having already spun away and flicking my tail to begin my long swim.
Sirens are fast in the water and capable of great speeds.
But will I make it in time?
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
KYNAN
Always wanting the crew to be on board with everything we did, I put Luarna’s idea as a vote to them.
The majority agree, and those who didn’t—Alarn and Dirk—are put ashore.
It also turns out some of the crew are handy with a hammer, so they have completed most of the renovations. We still need an engineer to get the wheels on the ship and have them retract when we head into the water.
When it’s all completed, we pulled off one of the most successful heists we’ve ever done.
All due to my pretty siren’s brilliant idea.
Each time we have a winning raid, I want to share the spoils and celebrate with her.
I miss her.
And not because of her warm cunt.
I miss her smile, the conversations we had, and the soft snores she made while plastering herself over me while she slept. Hell, I even miss the way her hair tickles my nose. Imiss her companionship. She made every day of my life bright just by being in it.
That’s why I’m looking forward to this day. It’s the date we set to meet up again. And this time, I amnotletting her go.
She ismine.
By the end of the day, she will know it too.
I’m Captain Kynan Sharpe. I’ve faced down enemies and shot a man with the last remaining bullet in my pistol while swinging from one ship to another.
But on this day, waiting for Luarna to arrive, I’ve never been more anxious.
I’ve waited until the last hour of the day while all my hopes are dashed as each long minute drags on.
I push off the bar. “That stubborn siren of mine.” I growl.
“What’s the plan now, Captain?” Flinders asks.
“We capture ourselves a siren.”
