I rolled my eyes. “Don’t be silly. Where do you want me to meet you?”
“I was thinking about going to yoga class but if you are too busy,”
I controlled the urge to reach through the phone and strangle her, only I had no superpowers and it was impossible.
“I will meet you there,” I dropped the call and pushed up from the bed.
Duncan choked on his coffee. “Zoey! You can warn a guy,”
At first, I didn’t understand until I remembered that I was fully bare. Instead of blushing, I rested my hand on my hip and tilted my hip to the side. “Don’t pretend that you didn’t touch and see all of this,”
He slowly put his mug down on the stand and got to his feet. “Since when are we this cocky?”
I smiled. “I don’t think you want to use that word since I have to get ready to meet my best friend,”
He arched an eyebrow which only made him dangerously sexy. If I didn’t have to meet Eliza, I would have let him take me back to bed and have his way with me.
“Beds are not the only place where a person can make love,”
Now I blushed. “Duncan,”
He reached to me and snaked an arm around my torso. With one pull, I was trapped in his arms. I pushed my hands up to his chest and rested them on his shoulders.
“You are beautiful, Zoey. Inside and out,” I believed him.
“And you’ve got a beautiful soul, and you are the most handsome man I’ve ever landed eyes on,”
He smiled and picked me up in his arms. I wrapped my legs around his torso and let him carry me into the bathroom. I expected him to do what he was thinking but he lowered me onto my feet. “Shower or bath?” He asked.
I would have liked to take a bath but I had a feeling we would only delay time. “Shower,”
He opened the taps without giving a single care in the world. He pushed his pants down and I was again reminded of Duncan’s physique. He was all over a big man.
“Are you going to devour me with your eyes or are you going to take a shower?”
I blinked at his words. “So, bossy,” I winked at him when I walked past him.
He tapped my butt softly making me yelp. I loved the echo of his chuckles and I loved the image of the misunderstood man smiling.
He joined me in the massive shower and layered my body with soap. He even massaged my scalp gently when he washed my hair.
This was all new to me. I wasn’t used to this kind of affection but I wasn’t going to complain. It was his way of expressing himself to me.
“Where should I drop you off?” Duncan asked once we were toweled down and in the process of getting dressed.
“Yoga class, it’s a few blocks over from the diner,”
“Yoga class?” He seemed truly baffled.
I nodded my head. “How do you think I stayed in shape and learned to look after my physique?”
“Yoga?” He repeated like a broken record.
“Are you also one of those people who believe that it is not exhilarating enough to be called exercise?” I placed my hand on my hip.
“No, of course not. It’s just I never heard you mention it before,”
I shrugged. “I used to go at least three times a week before meeting you and when I get a chance, I head after practice. It’s an excuse to spend time with Eliza and have a girl’s day,”
