“Am I childish for feeling upset with him?” I asked.
Camille rested her arm over my shoulder. “Relationships aren’t tricky and there are no secret ways of making them work. It’s pure willingness to fight for each other even though you end up fighting each other. Respect, trust, and love are the glue that keeps a couple together.”
“You are young and things might look ridiculous for you right now, but as you grow older you will find out what works for you and him.”
“Rushing into things won’t make things better. Being patient with each other will.” Jaylin added.
“Talking about patience, it looks like the guys went through some kind of war,” Camille muttered with a chuckle.
I lifted my gaze and found Travis, Brandon, Corbin, Jake, and Jared making their way over to the elevator while their clothes were drenched in sweat.
Jaylin just shook her head unaffected by them. “Travis took them to the 4x4 trails.”
“That husband of yours seems to struggle to keep his feet off the dirt or anything that comes with wheels.” Camille joked.
Jaylin smiled and shrugged. “He wouldn’t be Travis Richards without it.”
CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE
I haven’t spoken to Brandon since breakfast and I was planning on changing that with the girls’ help.
I knocked on his hotel door hoping he was in there as I waited for a moment for him to open up.
My breath caught in my throat and slowly disintegrated when the door opened and he stood in only a pair of low-rising shorts. My eyes followed the rugged lines of his well-defined abs covered in sweat and I controlled the urge to reach out and skim my hands over them.
“Hey, I was just planning on coming over,” he said with the one side of his mouth quirking up when he caught my struggle to breathe.
What was I doing here again?
My brain was scrambling around for answers and finally found them before I completely looked nuts.
“I thought we can maybe go somewhere,” I wasn’t going to give the surprise away, yet, and hoping he will at least play along.
“Yeah, sure. Let me just put on a shirt.” He said inviting me into his room.
The bed was the first thing my eyes landed on and I wondered if I was the only one thinking about it this morning? The feel of his hands skimming over my body as his hands joined in on the fun.
I inhaled some air to help me relax and maybe help with calming down my heart slamming against my chest.
“You, okay?” He came out of the bathroom pushing his fingers through his hair and I almost pouted that he was wearing a shirt.
I nodded, my eyes following him as he crossed the room and closed the distance between us.
I felt the static coiling through the air and soft sparks igniting all over my skin when he took my face into his hand and leaned in for a kiss.
I pouted when it was only a peck and I caught his smile when I reopened my eyes. His face was inches away from mine, my chin cupped between his fingers and he was giving me a smile filled with mixed emotions.
“I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but I quite enjoy watching you respond to my touch.” He said with a confident smirk.
“My brain keeps losing the battle and every other part of me reacts without needing my approval.”
He chuckled and brushed my lips with another toe-curling kiss before we finally decided to take a break or else, we will end up back on the bed and my plans for tonight will go to waste.
We grabbed a cab when we got outside the hotel and I gave the driver instructions.
I caught Brandon’s frown when I leaned back into his arms. “Where are we going?” He asked.
“I promised to take you out on a date,” I didn’t give away too much of what I had planned.
