He stopped kissing me and when I got the chance to look him in the eye, I saw how dark his eyes became.

“What’s wrong?” I asked—unsure why he stopped kissing me.

He gave me a reassuring smile. “I promised you that I will be a gentleman, but if I continue to kiss you like this, I might just do some things that you are not ready for.”

CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE

I woke up thinking everything about last night was a dream, but the second I opened my eyes and found myself curled beside Sasha’s sleeping form—I was reminded of the shape of her lips and how they felt against mine.

I expected the worst last night when Ashley lost her mind when she got drunk and triggered very strong unnecessary emotions.

When Sasha ran out, I thought that this was it. I lost her.

Then the moment I saw the look on her face I was convinced she felt something for me.

I grimaced when I saw the time. I had less than an hour to get my bags packed before the bus shows up that is taking us to the airport.

I hate waking her up and going to hate it even more leaving her side for the next few weeks without saying goodbye.

I brushed her cheek with a kiss before cautiously sneaking out of her bed—trying not to wake her up.

I didn’t miss a few of the girls’ surprised looks when I left Sasha’s room—making it obvious we spend the night together.

Jake was already awake getting ready to leave when I stumbled into the room.

“Where did you two run off to last night?” He asked, throwing an energy drink my way.

“Sasha needed space after what happened at the party,” I explained, shoving my clothes into my bag and making sure to get my gear without leaving anything behind.

“I still can’t believe what came over her,” Jake grumbled showing his annoyance in Ashley.

I still had to have a talk with Ashley about everything that went down last night.

Wanting to humiliate Sasha like that in front of everyone was unacceptable.

Sasha handled it like a pro when she didn’t back away from Ashley’s dare even though it was her first kiss. She could’ve easily turned her dare down and taken all the criticism, but she didn’t because she trusted me.

As from last night, I am hooked on the feel of her lips on mine and how she tastes even if I only had a small taste of her lips. She is still a bit shy and doubtful.

“Did the nightmare at least have a happy ending?” Jared asked entering the room with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

I pulled up my shoulders. “Maybe,” I wasn’t sure yet.

Neither was Sasha.

“She didn’t turn me down when she found out I have feelings for her, but she also didn’t say how she would feel about dating me.” I wasn’t going to push even though I wanted to because I have waited over six years for this moment.

I was always aware she didn’t like me or just saw me as a guy, but last night I’ve learnt to never make assumptions because they can be wrong. Last night she proved it.

“I waited for you to get a heart attack when she took Ashley’s dare and kissed you,” Jake noted.

I chuckled and rolled my shoulders. “I should enjoy this moment, but getting on the bus and leaving all of this on pause for a while is killing me, man,” I confessed.

I got the girl who was crushing on for years and now I have to wait another month or two before I can touch her again if she lets me.

“Aren’t you always the one that says good things take time? And that a patient man gets his girl?” Jared reminded me.

“I shouldn’t have kissed her last night because I don’t want to stop. It all still feels like a dream and I am afraid I am going to wake up and everything is gone.”
