“Jonah, I am going to kill you by hanging you by your feet and beat you with the remote until you beg for mercy!” I growled.

“Ouch, don’t you think that’s a bit harsh?” A too familiar voice said.

CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

I stared at Jaylin and Camille with my mouth hanging open. (If a fly would decide at this moment to fly into my mouth it would have a perfect time.)

I haven’t seen either of them in a very long time and I started to consider they have forgotten about me.

Both are happily married and doing what they love.

“Do you think she’s broken?” Camille tilted her head towards Jaylin’s shoulder as she acknowledged my shock state.

“Maybe she’s having a hard time processing that we brought food along.”

Jaylin raised a take-out bag and the smell of my favorite food jolted me back to reality.

“If this is your way of buying me over, it’s working,”

I noted, grasping the bag from Jaylin’s hold before I embraced her with a hug.

She chuckled and wrapped her arms around me.

“Good to see you too, Sash.” She said releasing me and giving me a moment to hug Camille.

I waved at Travis and Corbin who was making their way up the stairs. Corbin winked at me and Travis patted my head emphasizing that I was a lot shorter than him when they made their way past me and entered the house.

Jaylin and Camille were already greeting my father, Meredith, and Jonah.

I chuckled at Jonah’s expression when he took in Camille’s arm tattoos and gaped at Travis who was also a sports legend.

“How do you know these people?” Jonah asked.

I flicked his ear and took the remote from him.

“They are my family/friends I grew up with before you and I met,” I told him.

It’s the first time Camille and Jaylin meet Meredith and Jonah. I have told them about my father’s plans of getting married again and that Meredith has a son.

“So, Sasha told me that you are now working for the F1 as a mechanical engineer.” My father noted Camille’s achievement.

She nodded at him. “I’ve technically worked for Corbin’s dad since I moved to San Francisco and was offered to become permanent.” She replied shooting Corbin a grin when he was caught smiling at her.

It was quite amusing that she has been working for years for his father and he never knew until he swept her off her feet.

“What about classes though?” My father asked.

She shrugged. “I’ve decided to drop out when things became overwhelming and I am learning more at the factory than what I will learn at the University. I already know the basics and have my honors degree. I am a part of something I’ve always dreamt of.”

“What about you? Heard you traveled the world with a famous dancer.” My father said looking at Jaylin.

“I’m now part of Elizabeth’s company and a professional dance instructor. Had my first class of auditions and went pretty well.” Jaylin explained gazing at me as if she knew something but she didn’t mention anything.

Could Hailey have told her about Brandon? Or that I basically confessed I gave up, got in trouble, and was on the verge of getting my life back together.

My father started asking him about their marriages and asking about what they guys do for a living.

Their voice became hazy when I start falling into a daze when everyone’s happiness made things overwhelming for me.
