“You should do what you want.” I take a step in his direction. “It’s your house.”

“He’s got some good ideas. You both do.”

Pleasure blooms in my chest. “Was that praise, Gabriel Rothburn?” I tease.

He gives me his full attention, and my body heats beneath his gaze. Oh, good grief. How am I going to sit through our next board meeting without melting into the carpet?

One step and we’re toe to toe, him towering over me, staring down at my lips.

My tummy tingles with need.

“It was. You shouldn’t be surprised.”

My brows lift because I am surprised. Pleasantly. “You’re not exactly a cheerleader.”

“No, but I like making your eyes light up.”

I stare at his chest so he can’t see how those words make me hope for things I have no business hoping for. I’ve really messed up.

He hooks a finger beneath my chin and tips my face up until I meet his gaze. “Talk to me. What are you thinking?”

My soul screams for me to tell him everything. His brilliant blue eyes hold me captive, studying me until my stomach feels all gooey.

“The truth. No lies between us, Princess.”

I swallow. I want that, too. This connection is wild and crazy and wonderful. I nod. “The truth.”

He trails his thumb over my lower lip.

“I’ll go first,” he offers.

GABE

I know it was my idea to be open with Katherine. No lies, I said. But now that I’m ready to push the words past my lips, self-preservation holds me back. Which is silly.

She gave herself to us last night. Made herself vulnerable. She swallowed my cum. There’s zero reason to hold back now. But somehow, this feels more intimate.

“It’s not easy, is it?” Her whispered question is full of mirth. And challenge. Always a challenge where Katherine is concerned. When she offers a compromise, she makes you work for it.

Which I freaking love.

This is the Katherine I find addictive. Funny. Charming. Witty.

And warm. Who would have thought under all that ice was a volcano of heat and passion just waiting to be released?

“When you look at me like that, I forget what words are,” I admit.

She smirks and slides a hand up my chest, tentative at first, as if she’s unsure if she should be touching me. I take her hand in mine and press a kiss to each fingertip. A shiver wracks her body.

“You’re addictive.” I nip her index finger. “I woke up wanting a fix.”

Her lips part in a gasp. The huskiness shoots straight to my dick.

“And I know the smart thing to do is to head back to the city. Lock myself in my apartment. Let Alex have you—” Just saying the words makes my body hum with annoyance. That feels wrong.

“Gabe—”
