"We're going into the water." He stood up and grabbed her hand. They walked off the rocks to the sand below. Then he took off his walking boot and his other shoe. "I'm not doing this alone," he said as she seemed to be frozen in place. "I take something off—you take something off. Unless you were just talking before? And you don't really have the guts to do it?"

A smile spread across her lips. "You know what I can never turn down? A dare."

"Then I dare you."

ChapterTwenty-One

Molly tookoff her tank top and tossed it on the ground, shaking out her hair. The long waves tumbled over the lacy blue bra she had on. "Keep going," she said, giving him a nod.

He realized he'd stopped abruptly as soon as she'd started taking off her clothes. "Sorry. You distracted me."

"It's only going to get more distracting."

He could only hope. He shoved his jeans and briefs down and stepped out of them.

She caught her breath as her gaze swept his body. "You must work out a lot, Adam."

"Some. Let's see what you've got."

"Not as many muscles as you." She pulled off her bra and then stepped out of her jeans and panties. She wasn't muscled, but she was all soft, sweet curves, and his mouth watered, his body hardening. He didn't want to take her into the lake. He wanted to lay her down on the sand and make love to her.

Molly sucked in a breath as electricity sparked between them. "Now or never," she said.

He thought he better get in the water before he couldn't walk. So, he turned and hobbled his way into the lake.

Molly came in right behind him, squealing as she splashed her way into waist-high water. "It's freezing." She wrapped her arms around herself.

"I thought you liked to look at things positively. I'd say it's invigorating."

She laughed as she took in a breath and then dunked herself down to her neck. She popped back up, covering her breasts with her hands. "Oh, my God, it's cold. I think my heart stopped."

He moved through the water, eager to get to her. He felt cold and on fire at the same time. When he reached her, he cupped her face, gazed into her moonlit eyes, and took the kiss he'd been thinking about since the last time he'd kissed her.

The touch of their mouths created a blasting heat that washed over him. He wasn't freezing anymore. He was on fire—for her. He moved her hair to the side as he slid his tongue down her neck. She let out a sigh of appreciation and wrapped her arms around his body, pressing her breasts against his chest. He slid his hands down her back, cupping her sweet ass, wanting to get even closer to her than he was. But then she pulled away with a laugh.

"We're in the middle of the lake, Adam," she said breathlessly.

"I thought you wanted an adventure."

"Maybe one that's not so cold."

"Is it cold? I feel nothing but heat. Or I did, until you moved away."

"We should get out."

"Why? This is the most fun I've had…" He shrugged. "I can't remember when."

Her gaze met his. "I want to have the fun somewhere warmer."

"I can keep you warm, Molly."

"You want to have sex here in the lake where anyone could see us?" she challenged.

"I don't even know where we are right now, and I don't care."

"I think I've created a monster."

He laughed. "That might be true. You definitely unleashed something in me. I feel free."
