“I think that we both want the same things, babe,” Zane said. “Why not take a chance? Maybe things will go well and we’ll both be happy.”
“Always the optimist,” Crew teased.
“I’ll counter your pessimism. See, we’re already a great team,” Zane insisted. Crew had to admit that they were a pretty damn good team.
“Well, this went better than I thought it would,” Crew said.
“What did you imagine would happen?” Zane asked.
“I thought that maybe you’d kick me to the curb or something,” Crew teased.
“Not a chance,” Zane said, pulling him in for a kiss. “Ready for dinner?” he asked.
“Is it edible?” Crew questioned.
“Shut up and come on,” Zane said, smacking his ass on the way out of the closet.
“Hey Zane,” Crew called. Zane turned around and looked at him as he still stood in the closet.
“Yeah?” Zane asked.
“I love you too,” Crew said, smiling at his guy. He had never said those words to anyone except his parents, and he had to admit, it felt pretty damn good. Falling for Zane had been easy, but sharing his feelings with him wasn’t. He planned on changing that.
Zane
Zane wasn’t sure how in the hell he was supposed to tell the man that he loved that he wanted to put a woman between them. Crew was enough for him, but once he admitted the truth, he wouldn’t feel that way, and Zane hated doing that to him. They were still so new to each other, that he worried that telling Crew the truth would be the end of their relationship.
Crew had just gotten home from a few days of being undercover and he tried to give him some time and space to decompress. His guy was always a little on edge when he came home from a long assignment. Zane knew that he was going to have to pick and choose his time to drop the truth bomb on Crew otherwise, it would just blow up in his face.
He walked up to their bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed, trying to decide if it was the right time to talk to Crew or not. Zane told himself to stop being a pussy and man up. He took a deep breath and walked into the steamy bathroom to find Crew soaping up his body.
“Hey,” Crew said. “I was hoping that you’d come up to join me.” Zane watched as his guy soaped up his cock, teasing hima bit, and he knew that denying Crew wouldn’t work. His guy would not be denied.
“Strip and get in here,” Crew growled. Zane did what he asked and by the time he stepped into the hot spray of water, he was hard and ready for whatever Crew had planned for him.
Crew pulled Zane into his hard body and crushed his lips against his. He loved how rough Crew liked sex between them. He didn’t have to be gentle with his guy, and Zane loved that. But it was also one of the things that Zane missed most about not being with a woman. If someone asked him what the perfect relationship looked like to him, he’d say it would be a threesome with a man and a woman both in his bed. That was all he ever wanted, and now that he was one step closer to having that life, he was afraid to tell Crew.
Crew broke the kiss and stepped back from Zane “Where are you, babe?” he asked. Zane should have known that hiding anything from Crew would be damn near impossible. It was one of the things he had to get used to with dating a detective. Crew could always read him.
“I’m right here, Crew,” he assured, taking a step closer to his guy. Crew took a step back, pressing himself against the shower wall, and Zane felt as though he had physically slapped him.
“How about you try the truth?” Crew asked. “What’s on your mind?”
Zane sighed and took a step back, “I need to tell you something and I’m not sure how you will take it,” he admitted. He dropped his head, not wanting to look directly into Crew’s dark eyes. He always had trouble looking someone in the eyes when he was about to say something that he didn’t want to say.
“Babe,” Crew whispered, “look at me.” He tucked a finger underneath Zane’s chin and raised his gaze to look directly at him. “Tell me what’s going on,” he demanded.
“I want to put a woman between us,” he whispered. Crew tossed back his head, laughing as though he had just heard the funniest joke ever told. “What’s funny?” Zane asked.
“You,” Crew breathed in between fits of laughter.
“Can you please stop laughing at me, Crew?” Zane growled. “It took me a lot of time to work up the courage to tell you that and you’re laughing at me isn’t helping.”
“I’m sorry,” Crew said, trying to suppress his laughter, but doing a shitty job of it.
“This was a bad idea,” Zane grumbled. He pushed the shower door open and started to get out when Crew grabbed his hand and tugged him back against his body.
“I’m sorry,” Crew said. “Will you forgive me?”
