Page 83 of Loving You

They hit almost no turbulence, and while the landing was a little rough from the wind, they were on the ground without incident, and Bronx was mostly put together by the time they exited the plane.

Kylen excused himself the way he usually did, and this time, Monty let him go. Kylen was family, but today felt important. He’d called a ride, and he led the way to the large SUV, letting Lucas climb into the front while he and Bronx took the back.

“Are you nervous about introducing us?” Bronx asked.

Monty kind of liked the way Bronx treated his granddad like he was still alive. Like he could still form an opinion. “Not really. He would have loved you, and he probably would have stolen Lucas to keep as his own.”

“Because I’m amazing,” Lucas sang.

Bronx laughed and rolled his eyes. “Mm. Well, I’m excited. And it’s nice to be able to take a break from all the house stuff.”

The house stuff. Nearly a year, and while Monty had an eventual elaborate proposal almost ready to go, they weretaking a different step first. It hit Monty almost like a sack of bricks that the one thing he could do with his money—the one important thing his grandfather would have wanted—was invest in his future.

Not his career, but his heart.

Bronx had initially put up a fight, but Monty laid out his argument. They could build from scratch. They could make the whole thing—the house, the property, all of it—accessible for Luke. They could make it theirs. Something no one else had ever touched.

Starting fresh, just them. No past, no exes, no shitty fathers.

Bronx had eventually cracked, and it wasn’t long before they were signing papers and making plans to start packing. The building had gone a lot faster than usual since it was the dry season. The longest had been the design, especially since they had to order a ton of stuff special. Bronx had found a company that made talking appliances, and Lucas had spent two weeks going over braille blueprints.

“I don’t even know why my opinion mattered,” he’d said once. “It’s not like I’m going to live here forever.”

“No, but it’ll be your home,” Monty insisted. “It’ll always be your home.”

So that was that. They had a housewarming party coming up, but Monty had wanted to do this before this new part of their life truly began. It felt almost like a capstone for who he was, making way for who they would be together.

As a family.

The SUV rolled to a stop at the usual spot, and Monty asked the driver to wait. He didn’t want this to take long. They had too much to do to linger. He waited for Bronx, who was guiding Lucas over the grassy, bumpy terrain, and together, they reached the headstone.

“I have lilies growing,” Monty said for Lucas. “Stargazer ones.”

Lucas knelt down and felt forward until his fingers touched the delicate petals. “They don’t really smell.”

“No. It was more for the aesthetic,” Monty confessed. “He really would have liked you both. I used to come here all the time—every time I was feeling lonely and sad. But I haven’t in months, and I realized it’s because I’m so content now.”

“Is that a good thing?” Bronx asked, throwing an arm around Monty’s shoulders.

Monty turned his face up and kissed him. “It’s the best thing. It’s what he wanted for me—to be nothing like either of my parents. To find someone just like you both.”

“Insta family. Just add water,” Lucas said as he stood. He held out a hand, and Monty took it, drawing him close. “So, the October wedding?”

“Lucas,” Bronx groaned.

Monty looked up at his lover. “It is a nice time of year.”

Bronx sighed and kissed him again. “Let’s get through the move and the housewarming party first, yeah?”

“I think I can work with that,” Monty said, smiling. He looked back down at his grandfather’s name and closed his eyes, picturing his smile. He would have been happy. And that alone made it all worth it.

“Why do you—uhg, fuck, fuck—why do you do this every time?”

Bronx grinned at Monty in the mirror as he shoved thedildo in deeper, forcing Monty up onto his toes to take it all. “Because it calms you down,” Bronx said, pausing for only a moment before he began to fuck Monty’s ass with the toy hard and fast.

“It…ah. Ah,uh uh uh,” Monty gasped, his eyes rolling back in his head. His legs were spread, and when his thighs began to shake, Bronx eased up, urging Monty to slide back down to his heels.

“What were you saying?” Bronx asked with an innocent smile.
