Page 15 of Things Get Dark

Clearly you drank way too much last night, had some solo fun and then dreamed it all up, Darcy.

Moving across my room to the bathroom, I stumble inside, my legs shaky. Turning on the light, I flip the switch on the shower and leave it to warm while I gather towels. As my hand grips the white fluffy material I notice the black under my nails.

While my hands are clean, my nails have something black caked under them. Dumping the towels close to the shower, my feet shuffle over to the sink and I turn on the tap. Using soap and water I clean all the muck from under my nails.

My eyes lift to the mirror and widen in shock as I notice the bite mark on my shoulder. Blinking a few times, I wait for the image to clear but it doesn't go away. What I thought was a dream is becoming a reality.

Stepping away from the mirror, my eyes move down my body noticing the bruises on my hips and my dirt coated feet. I rush from the bathroom, turning on all the lights as I go, but there is no sign of my monster anywhere in my apartment.

Turning in a circle my afterglow melts away as I realize my monster is gone. It was real and somehow I ended up back in my apartment but he left me.

Of course he did, Darcy. He's a monster. He went back to wherever he came from.
