“That was fun.”
“Was it? You looked as though you might have a heart attack.”
She laughed. “I thought I might, but it wasn’t so bad once I got used to it.” We got out of the car, and she met me at my side. “I’d rather have a truck, though.” She paused. “Not that I’m not grateful. I am. I’d just be more comfortable in a truck.”
“You sure you’re okay?”
She swallowed hard. “Yes. I’ll be fine, Randall.” Ivy’s fingers brushed my tattooed covered arm and lit me aflame with lust. “You’ll be with me.”
I placed my hand on her lower back, led her inside the seaside-themed restaurant, and showed her our table where Alek and Liz sat talking. It worked out better this way. Now I didn’t have to make a special trip for Liz and Ivy to meet.
Hell, maybe Liz could even give Ivy a few pointers on how she overcame her fears after Jimmy took her.
“Tonk.”
“Alek.”
I pulled out Ivy’s chair, then tucked her in after she took her seat. I took mine and waved down the waitress, who was the same one we’d always had and whose name I’d neglected to remember.
“Hello, Mr. Randall. Would you like the usual?” she asked with a beaming smile.
Ivy raised her brow as she gawked at me. I cleared my throat. “No. I want every seafood dish you have.”
Her eyes grew as large as the server’s, then leaned in and placed her hand on my arm. “Randall, what are you doing?”
“Fixing a problem.”
“Every dish, Mr. Randall?”
“To go.”
“Anything else I can get you?”
“Scotch.” I turned towards Alek. “Did you order the calamari?” He shook his head, dumbfounded by my order as well, while Liz sat with her hands in her lap, her eyes bouncing from Ivy to me. “And an order of calamari, double.”
The waitress nodded. “Anything else?”
“Ivy. What do you want to drink?”
“I… um.” Looking around, she swallowed hard. “Just a glass of water, please.”
“Bottled,” I said.
Alek and Liz ordered their usual of Lobster pasta with a cream sauce while Ivy moved her chair closer to me.
I put my hand near the apex of her thighs and squeezed with gentle pressure as she placed her hand over mine. The skin just above her collar flushed as she bit back a smile.
“So, Ivy. Since Randall doesn’t know how to make introductions, I’m Liz, Alek’s fiancé.”
Ivy flicked her gaze to Alek, then to Liz. “Nice to meet you.”
Alek leaned over while Liz chatted up Ivy. “You have everything ready to go?”
Ivy looked at us, then turned her attention back to Liz. I narrowed my eyes. “Not here,” I said, lowering my voice.
“You still haven’t told her?”
“I don’t recall you making everything known with Liz until well after your father.”
