I don’t know what was going on between the doctor and Aziza, but glancing over at Killian, he looked like he was ready to tear him apart with his bare hands. “Aziza.”

She turned sharply looking around at all of us. I had no idea who this woman was, but by the look on her face, she was ready to tear Killian a new asshole. She was ready to fight any of us if we said a word about Salem. I wanted to hold onto that, but everything about Salem was truly beginning to get under my skin. We had no idea who she was.

“Why can’t we find anything on her?” Dimitri turned his full attention to Aziza.

“She doesn’t exist, that's why.” I was surprised by the fact that she stood her ground. Not many women could. Three it appeared to be.

“Yeah, got that, but we’re going to need a little more information,” he grunted.

“I’m not going to tell you shit, so don’t waste your breath.”

“Do not speak to me like that. You know who I am. You know I will not think twice about ending your fucking life right here, right now,” Dimitri growled at her, taking a step. I wasn’t going to step in unless things got worse, and from the look on Killian's face he was fighting with who he was going to side with.

Aziza laughed, full on laughing. I don’t know who was more surprised by that as well, either Dimitri who had stopped stalking towards her like prey, or Killian who stood straight up, arms crossed looking between them both. Even Mila who was two seconds away from falling asleep was now sitting straight up watching Dimitri.

“You think I’m scared of you?” She was still laughing. “That’s good, a really good one. But no, buddy, I’m not.” Aziza stepped forward now standing directly in front of Dimitri. “She doesn’t exist because I made sure no one can find her.” She pointed towards Killian. “Even if you think you have the best hacker, there’s always someone better,” she said, now pointing towards herself. “Me.”

“Wait, what?” Killian stepped towards them.

“Salem no longer exists in this world. No one knows her, and no one can find her. She was never born; I took it all away. And if you ever threaten me again, Dimitri Volkov, I will make sure everything you have in your life disappears.” And to top it off she patted his chest. Turning around she headed for the door. “And, Killian, if I ever see you again, I’ll stab you. I don’t need aboyin my life that would ever allow his pussy boss to speak to me that way. I deserve better.” With that the door slammed.

Killian punching the wall caused both of us to turn towards him.

“I don’t want to hear it. Take Mila and Tobias to Hollow. Zane and I will meet you there.” Dimitri then pulled out his phone that I hadn’t even realized was ringing.

“How’d you get this number?” He looked at me, his face hardening from whoever was on the other line.

“Excuse me?” After a moment he threw the phone across the room, hitting it, smashing it to pieces.

“Who was that?” I asked.

“Luca.” Dimitri stormed towards the door. Following him out, he marched around the fifth floor looking at each door. I had a feeling he was looking for Salem and I wasn’t sure what he planned on doing once he found her.

“What did he want?” I asked.

Ignoring me he continued looking around, searching each folder on the doors. I knew better than to try and get him to stop. Once he was on a mission, he stuck his mind to it, no matter what.

I don’t know how long we searched, going through the whole fifth and sixth floors until we saw the same doctor the moment we got to the seventh floor.

“You,” Dimitri growled and began stalking towards him.

The doctor looked up and rolled his eyes before crossing his arms over his chest.

“What do you want?” he asked not caring that Dimitri was a dangerous man. It appeared everyone in the damn town didn’t care. I wouldn’t be that surprised if Dimitri ended up shooting him for the disrespect.

“Where is she?”

“Care to elaborate who you’re referring to?” Give it to the doctor for not giving a shit.

“Don’t give me that, where the fuck is Salem!” he barked, getting loud at the end.

Before he could say anything, the door to our left swung open and Aziza stepped through. “In,” she ordered.

Dimitri, not sparing a glance back, walked into the room, with me following behind. I wasn't sure what I expected when I walked in. But seeing Salem lying on the hospital bed sent my heart into a frenzy. My stomach felt like it was in knots. Everything felt uncomfortable.

She laid there with an IV in her arm, an oxygen tube in her nose. The whole side of her left face was bruised, and several bruises sat along her arms. I had yet to see the rest of her body, but I knew it matched.

“What do you want?” Aziza answered after closing the door and stepping to stand next to Salem. A spot where I wanted to stand. I wanted to be the one she was leaning on, holding her hand.
