Getting this twenty-year-old into the SUV and back to the warehouse was more difficult than it should have been. After dragging him to the middle of the warehouse I finally got him chained to the chair.
I waited for Killian to show up since it was nearly three in the morning, and I needed coffee. After ten minutes, I watched as he struggled, holding two cups of coffee and trying to open the door.
Finally, after struggling, Killian righted himself before walking over.
“You couldn’t have helped?” he asked, handing me a small white cup.
Taking a sip I nearly spat all over the ground. No one could ever get my coffee right. They always added creamer or sugar. Never made sense on how it was hard to fuck up a black coffee.
Literally black. Pour it directly from the pot, that fucking easy.
“No.”
“What’d he do?”
I debated on telling him. I doubted he knew anything about Ghost, just like I doubted Ghost was even real.
“He was at one of the underground fight clubs, and says he knows about Ghost,” I finally answered. I didn’t care if we found this “Ghost” because that’s all they were to me. A fucking ghost. I could give two shits if they took out Luca and his men. I could give two shits if this thing was real or not. Right now I was just playing a little role for Dimitri.
“Do you think Ghost is real?”
“No.” It was the truth. Ghost was just a lie and was a stupid joke. A dumb one.
“Luca thinks it’s true.” Killian took a sip of his coffee. “God, Mila makes the best coffee.”
Frowning over at him, he tried hiding a smirk behind his cup. Of course, Mila made the coffee, which explains why it tasted like shit. Fucking sugar.
“If you don’t believe this person exists then why are you even looking into it?”
Simply because I was trying to do anything to distract myself from following the girl around. After I found where her house was a week ago, I barely stopped myself from becoming a full-blown stalker. I went by her house every day, seeing her SUV had not moved. She was either inside and I couldn’t see her, or she was outside doing yard work.
She looked tired every time I was able to get a peek at her. It was still mind boggling seeing her in everyday clothes. She always wore leggings or sweatpants, and an overly large shirt. I couldn’t help but think it was because of the scars covering her back and neck. I wondered if the rest of her body had scars as well.
She never wore makeup either, and her hair was always tied back into a high ponytail or a braid trailing down her back. Her eyes still took my breath away from the cobalt brightness.
Shaking myself from her, I took another sip of my coffee.
“Dimitri said he’d find who it was,” I lied.
“That’s interesting, I’ve never seen you so hyped to look in—” He was cut off as the guy began to groan. Killian winced, finally sparing the guy a look.
“Are you going to beat him up?”
I nodded my head. Of course, I was. If he didn’t talk, then I was going to have to force him to. Hence why I was the enforcer, and Killian was the computer nerd.
“Well, I’m going to leave you to it.” He laughed waving a hand as he backed out of the warehouse.
Turning around I looked over at the guy. I no longer cared about Ghost at all. Right now I just wanted to find the girl and see what dirty secrets she could be hiding from me.
“Glad you’re finally awake,” I mumbled, walking closer to him. “What’s your name?” I asked. I didn’t really care what his name was, but normal people thought when they asked what it was, they were going to be nice. It was a mind game.
“Thomas,” he whispered.
“Wow, that was easy, Thomas. I thought I was really going to need some of my toys to get that out of you,” I smirked. “Who’s Ghost?”
Thomas snapped his head up at me, sending me a death glare. It could almost be comical if he really thought that scared me. No one scared me.
“I really don’t have the patience to play this game with you. I have a date to get to.” The date was getting to her house and finally getting to her. Who she was with, even what her fucking place looked like inside. I wanted to know every little detail, and it was beginning to piss me off with how much I wanted to know her.
