Once I arrive, I don’t hesitate to pound my fist against what I think is Brynn’s door, if the doormat with a B on it is anything to go by. I’m pretty sure she’s going to leave me standing out here for a while. Or ignore me all together. But I’m stubborn as fuck and I know she’s awake.
I also know she wants me, even if she refuses to admit it. And tonight, I plan to prove it to her.
After a minute I knock again, louder this time.
Right before I’m about to knock a third time the door swings open. Her blonde hair blows back from the force of it while her eyes stare daggers at me. Withoutgiving her the chance to slam the door in my face I storm inside, kicking the door closed behind me once I’m in.
She backs up and continues to keep her narrowed eyes on me.
“I got a hat trick,” I tell her. Obviously, she knows, but I want to make it clear.
“Yup,” is all she says.
“You going to congratulate me?”
“Nope.”
“Aw, come on, princess, I know you were here secretly hoping I would so I would come over.”
“I would love to spend a day in your head just to see how many delusions are really up there.”
“If you didn’t want me here, you wouldn’t have opened the door.” I raise my eyebrow at her.
“You just would’ve kept knocking.”
“You could have called the cops to have me removed.”
“Still could.”
“You won’t.”
She rolls her lips between her teeth and then sighs, her shoulders deflating. A black and white hobbling fluff ball catches myattention as it comes toward me, meows, and then rubs herself along my leg.
Brynn’s gaze falls to her cat and she glares. “Traitor.”
I lean down and pet the little three-legged creature while she purrs loudly. “You know.” I stand back up. “I know this isn’t the only pussy in this apartment that wants me.”
“You wish,” Brynn snaps.
I take a step toward her, the cat hobbling off somewhere as if the tension is so thick she can feel it.
“What do you want, Colton?”
I take a step toward her. “You know exactly what I want. And it’s the same thing as you.”
“You want you to run off somewhere far, far away, never to be heard from again?”
Another step.
“You’d miss me.”
“Not even a little bit.”
Step.
“Tell me you want me. You have since that kiss.”
“Want you to go away.”
