Page 167 of Delilah In Discretion

I found myself drifting slightly as I stared into Archer’s eyes—the ones that held so much love, admiration, care, and protectiveness—everything I could ever hope for.

And I was the one putting the brakes on things. Afraid to go all the way. Afraid to accept what he felt for me. Afraid of what would happen when we became more serious.

He never had a problem with waiting. He wanted to wait for me. He would always wait for me.

“Princess...” he said, tilting his head, and I came out of my trance.

“H-Huh?” I whispered, and he chuckled.

“What’s got you so far away? Did I bore you with my story?” he asked, and I shook my head slowly.

“I…” I began, and before I could chicken out, I just—

“I was thinking about how much I love you.”

—said it.

He paused for a moment; it felt like the longest minute of my life.

“What did you say?” he asked me in slight shock.

I took a deep breath before speaking again.

“I love you, Archer.”

He stared at me for a bit longer before grabbing my hand and putting it to his lips.

“If only you knew... how long I’ve waited to hear those words. How much in love I am with you. Sometimes, I don’t know what to do with myself or who I am without you. Delilah, I’m in love with you.”

I smiled brightly, and he slowly stood me up by the hand as he made me walk over to him while he remained in his seat. We were somewhat secluded, but that didn’t stop the blush from rising to my face.

As he faced me, he placed his hands on my waist. He made circular motions with his hands on my waist, and I bit my lip as he looked me up and down once again.

“I love you so much. I only dreamed of the things I’d do to you. To show you you’re mine,” he muttered, and my heart fluttered as my knees tightened slightly.

He slowly made me sit on his lap, which I didn’t see anything wrong with as no one was looking at us… well, that is until I realized Archer’s hand was directly on my ass, the waiter was only a few feet away, and his face was red. He seemed to beoccupying himself with something, but he was clearly focused on the two of us.

“You’re so bad,” I muttered, and Archer shrugged.

“Not only do I want you to remember you’re mine, but I also need to make sure he and everyone else knows it, too.”

Soon, we had finished dinner and made our way to his penthouse. I quickly took off my dress and shoes as Archer entered the bathroom to get ready for bed. Could I be making a fool out of myself? Potentially. Would I regret it? Not entirely, but I felt we were ready for the next step.

He was always the one to initiate our fun time, so it’s only right to return the favor and dress up a little for him. His birthday is also coming up soon, so I had plenty of excuses as to why I wanted to have fun.

Taking my hair out of its ponytail, I climbed onto the bed and sat in the middle on my knees. I looked over to the mirror to see the white lingerie set... which made me look like an entirely different person. Was this a bad idea? Is this who I am?Is this who we are?

Before I could run out of the room, the bathroom door opened, and Archer walked out shirtless and in a pair of black joggers. He made his way over to me slowly, and I bit my lip as I rested my hands on the bed between my bent thighs.

“What’s the meaning of all this, Princess?” he asked as his eyes examined my body, and I gulped softly.

“I wanted to… s-surprise you,” I said softly, and he nodded as he grabbed my hand and pulled me over to him.

“Well, I’m happy with my surprise, Princess. Fucking love it at that, but—” he began, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.“I don’t want you to feel pressured into doing anything you don’t feel comfortable with. If you’re not ready or having doubts, I’m fine with that,” he said lovingly.

I shook my head. “I want this, and I want you, Archer. I love you,” I whispered softly, and he gulped as his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, his eyes roaming over me once again.

“I love you too, Princess.”
