“You’re going to miss me randomly pulling up on you for sex?” I asked with a chuckle as I leaned against the door.
“Yeah. We’re friends and we enjoy each other. You’re the best dick I’ve ever had. Every time I get it these days, I immediately get this feeling that it’s going to be over soon.”
Sucking my teeth, I pushed off her car and opened the door. “I don’t know why you’re thinking that. I’m not dating so I won’t be getting married any time soon… if at all. You still got some time to have me all to yourself.”
Though she grinned, Amanda’s head shook as she got into her G-Wagon. “Whatever, E. I’m serious. My intuition is telling me things are going to change between us soon.”
Her expression saddened, and as much as I wanted to ignore it, I’d never been the type of man to downplay a person’s feelings.
Leaning down into the car, I gave her a kiss on the forehead. We’d stopped kissing on the lips after we broke up, and I didn’t see that changing any time soon.
“Nothing or no one is going to change our vibe, Amanda, aight?” Her mouth twisted to the side as she nodded. “Go home and get cleaned up. I’ll pick you up in like an hour so we can go eat.”
“Okay.” She agreed softly, and her solemn mood had me wanting to say fuck spending any more time together.
I wasn’t sure why she was feeling the way she was because there wasn’t a woman I’d crossed paths with lately that I was even interested in. I’d be lying if I said Amanda’s gut steered her wrong. If she said she felt things were going to change between us soon, unfortunately, that was a warning I was wise enough to heed.

Damien
The last thingDamien wanted to do was see Nevaeh before he went home, but she was getting more and more reckless. He’d blocked her number; now she was calling and texting him from others. She was also reaching out to him via social media and threatening to pull up on his girl at her shop if he didn’t see her.
Usually when Damien cut a woman off, she went easily, especially if she found out he had a woman. Not too many of them were willing to look desperate or dumb by exposing him on social media. Besides, he often blocked them when he found their profiles anyway. Neveah, however, was proving to be a bit more difficult to shake, and he regretted the day he met her.
Her pussy was good, but it wasn’t worth the hassle she’d been putting him through. Damien had grown tired of her three weeks ago, and she’d been showing her ass ever since. With a sigh, he put his car in park and looked around the parking lot. Normally, Damien wouldn’t meet one of his side chicks in public, but he felt that was the safest route with Neveah. Toavoid being spotted by anyone he knew, he told her to meet him at Cracker Barrel so he could have some breakfast while they talked.
After spotting her Kia in the parking lot, he headed inside. Bypassing the hostess, he looked around the restaurant until he found her seated in the corner, sipping orange juice. To him, Neveah was bad as fuck. She had a shy, innocent thing going on that propelled Damien toward her. For whatever reason, he assumed she’d be easy to fuck and forget. No drama. Out the way. But it was proving to be the opposite case.
Making his way over to her, Damien sighed and ran his hand down his face. He was getting too damn old for this shit. Juggling all of his women had him stressing the fuck out. Maybe it was time to finally settle down and do right by Vanessa. She’d put up with a lot of his bullshit… loved him when he felt unworthy. Yeah. Maybe it was time he finally lived and loved right.
As he sat across from Nevaeh, she pushed her glasses further up the bridge of her nose. Her shoulder-length hair was pulled back into a low bun. The light brown skin he loved to lick and kiss was a shade darker than normal, compliments of the traveling she’d been doing over the summer. And she always smelled so fucking good—like fruit and liquor.
Hell, if it wasn’t for Vanessa and his hoish ways, Damien would have believed Nevaeh was the one. But the timing was off, and he’d seen a side of her that made her less desirable… no matter how good she looked physically. If there was one thing Damien couldn’t stand, it was a clingy woman or one that questioned him—even if it was because of his bullshit.
“You summoned me?” he asked, smirking.
“I just wanted to give you one last chance to apologize for the way you mishandled me and fumbled my heart before I ruin your life.”
Damien chuckled with a shake of his head. “Am I supposed to be afraid of your threat?”
Her head shook as she sat up in her seat. “It’s not a threat; it’s a promise.”
“Look, Nevaeh…”
“I trusted you,” she seethed, finger extending in his direction. “I fell in love with you. Not only did you use me for my body, you discarded of me like I wasn’t shit. I’m tired of niggas like you taking advantage of good women with no consequences. You’re going to pay for what you did to me.”
Their eyes remained locked for seconds on end. It wasn’t the first time a woman had threatened him, but there was something in Nevaeh’s eyes that made Damien believe he should take heed.
“What do I have to do to make you go away? Just apologize?”
Now, she was the one smirking as her head shook. “No, I don’t want your apology anymore. It wouldn’t be genuine.”
“Then what the fuck do you want from me?” He was seething, voice raising louder than he wanted it to.
Standing, Nevaeh rested her palms on the table. She smiled, softly caressing his cheek. “I’m going to make you suffer.”
“Hey, suga. What can I get you to drink?”
