‘What is it?’ Seth asked. ‘You won that tender for the job with Greencorp?’

‘No, they haven’t announced that yet.’ Polly smiled at him. ‘It’s nothing to do with work. Actually, wait here, Seth. There’s something I need to show you. Won’t be a tick.’

She was as good as her word and back in no time, holding the item in question behind her back, and she knew she was grinning like a little kid with an enormous, not-very-well-disguised secret. When she reached Seth she handed him the plastic stick, and then held her breath as he stared at it.

His face broke into the hugest grin when he saw the two blue lines. ‘You’re pregnant?’

‘Certainly looks that way.’

With a whooping shout of joy, Seth was hugging her again. ‘That’s amazing, Polly. You clever, clever girl.’

‘I didn’t do it on my own.’

‘Mumma. Dadda,’ called a little voice at their feet.

Summer, with her hands reaching up to them, wanted to be included in their hug and, of course, Seth scooped her up quickly.

‘I’m going to be a daddy,’ he said in an awed kind of whisper and he was grinning, even though tears glittered in his eyes. ‘I’m going to be a father.Again.’
