Hi Polly,
Thanks so much for sharing that video. Very clever of you to capture such a big milestone in Summer’s life. She’s growing so quickly. She’s amazing.
That’s great news about your accommodation too. It’s good to know you’ll be more comfortable. Oh, and I should also add congrats on the work front. Seems things are working out really well for you.
Life is chugging along okay here. Business is fine. The days are certainly getting shorter and colder and the new deck is almost finished.
Do you need a hand with moving? Sing out if I can help.
All the best,
Seth
Sing out if I can help.
Oh, man, thought Polly, wasn’t that so like Seth Ramsay to send an immediate offer to help?
Part of her would have loved to say yes, please, we’re longing to see you—which would, unfortunately, be the truth.
In Wirralong, Polly had come dangerously close to falling head over heels for this man. Now, with the safety of distance, she could acknowledge there’d been times—ordinary moments, when she and Seth were in the kitchen fixing dinner, fussing over Summer, talking together—when the atmosphere between them had been so sizzling, she’d scarcely been able to breathe.
And this hadn’t been a simple case of crushing on her bestie, as it had been in high school. Those times in Seth’s house, the chemistry had felt way deeper and so much more intense.
Except that this time, unlike in their schooldays, Seth had been the one who’d held back. It was Seth who’d been wary and cautious. And he’d certainly made it very clear to Polly that he’d helped her out of friendship. He’d shown no sign that any kind of deeper emotion was involved.
So, for Polly, inviting him to Melbourne would only stir up emotions she was trying to keep in check. Emails were safer. She quickly sent back her reply.

Hi Seth,
How lovely of you to offer to help with the move. As always, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness, but honestly, I have so few possessions it won’t be a big job.
I should be able to load everything into my car, even with Summer’s baby carrier taking up so much space on the back seat. I reckon I should manage it in two trips, three at the most. And I’m only moving a couple of suburbs away. My new address will be Unit 33, 224 Exeter Rd, Preston. So exciting.
Thanks again,
Polly xx
PS. I should also mention that there’s something else I need to thank you for. My stay in your gorgeous house and seeing everything you’ve achieved gave me the push I needed to get off my butt and make the most of my own talents. So you have to take some credit for my newly flourishing business. Thanks a million, dude. x

Seth, I hope that didn’t sound too blunt when I knocked back your kind offer to help. It’s just—well, you know the story—I feel like you’ve already done so much.
Anyway, Summer has rolled over six times since my last email. Her only problem now is that she hasn’t worked out how to roll back the other way.
Such a little problem in the global scheme of things, but huge for my little girl.
