I think momentarily.
“Foster. Foster Coldwell. You’ve earned it, but the others have not.”
“I’m going to call you Mr. Coldwell, but when it's just you and I, then I’ll call you Foster.”
“I like that idea,” and lean back and kiss her nose.
“Unfortunately, we do need to make it back, darling.”
I’m the first to break away and scramble to find her clothes and get her dressed before I collect mine, with the only light from the moon and stars as they reflect the calm ocean, brightening up the shore.
As we near the campsite, we can smell the seafood the boys must have put on the fire. Eve hesitates, and I take hold of her hand as we pass the threshold and enter the group.
Almost immediately, all four men’s eyes drop to our hands and understand my claim on Eve, but no one says anything, as if the understanding is mutual.
I lean into Eve. “Go sit where you were last night,” I whisper, and she nods and releases my hand to sit between Byron and Zane.
They both make room for her, and I lean over the fire, observing the giant crabs that roast deliciously over the fire.
“We’re almost finished with the roof of the shelter,” Astro says. “I reckon it’ll be okay if it rains tonight, but tomorrow, it should be properly finished to fit everyone comfortably.”
I look over all the material they’ve gathered together to complete tomorrow’s task. Everything from bamboo shoots to small branches and large palm leaves.
“Here,” I watch Byron crack open one of the crabs and pull out some meat, handing it to Eve. I observe her take it and eat it slowly as if it’s the most delicious thing she’s ever had. My mind drifts back to the moment she opened her mouth so I could feed her my cum.
She is amazing.
“What about sleeping arrangements?” Zane's question cuts through the air, pulling me out of my moment of thoughts with Eve. “Have they changed now?”
He’s respectfully asking me. I watch Eve smile as her gaze catches onto me as she gives me a slight nod of her head. She was right the entire time, and I admireher for that.
Straightening my back, I take charge of the moment, plucking a crab from the fire and cracking its shell with a nearby rock.
"Not unless someone desires a change," I assert, my voice firm and confident.
In that instant, I reaffirm my leadership over the group, solidifying my position as their alpha.
Chapter 13
“Here,” I hand Eveone of the sharper bamboo spears and throw the old one back onto the sand.
While looking for crabs yesterday, we came across this shallow intertidal pool formation of rocks and ocean where tons of fish and crabs seem to gather in abundance and are easier to catch. But when I say easier, these are fast buggers, and one needs a lot of patience and good sharp aim.
“We’ve been at this for an hour and have only caught two fish. This isn’t enough for dinner,” Eve sighs.
“Patience, little one,” I say and jump a rock to join her. “You have to keep your eyes on the target, but not too long, and then swiftly aim and stab the fish.”
“You make it sound so easy!”
“Try it again,” I encourage her and remain next to her. “There!” I point at the fat fish.
Her eyes zone in on the target, her arm raises slightly, and as she bends her left foot, it slides off the rock and is about to fall in. I grab her waist and pull her back up.
“Steady there, sweety,” I say, and she giggles as I bring her against my chest.
I don’t know where I sit with Eve anymore. Up until yesterday, we shared a couple of moments together where I thought I may have had a chance with her, but there isn’t an animal on this island who didn’t hear her and Mr. Coldwell at it by the shore. We were all tempted to go see what was going on as soon as we heard them, but each one of us dared the other to act like perverts.
He was the last person I imagined was my competition. I knew Byron was paying extra attention to her, but he has this moody on-and-off switch, so I wasn’t sure if he would ever make a move on Eve.
