“Time to get dressed for bed, princess,” Keir said as he slapped her ass. “I’ll meet you in our room in five.”
I grabbed her arm before she left and yanked her to me. “Not going to tell me goodnight, little one?” I feigned a pained expression. “I can’t believe you’re so heartless.”
She giggled and put her arms around my neck. I grabbed the backs of her thighs, and she wrapped her legs around my waist. She tried to kiss me, but I narrowly avoided it and placed a kiss on her nose instead. Her giggles turned to laughter, and she threw her head back, exposing her neck. I dove in, planting an array of kisses on her chest and throat, making her laugh even harder.
“Aiden!” she squealed. “Please…. My abs… hurt…” she sputtered between fits of laughter.
“Abs? What abs?” Nicholas tickled her sides, making her arch her back and laugh so hard, she snorted. “Oh, there they are.”
“Stop!” she shrieked through her giggles.
Lilly flailed in my arms, and I loosened my grip, letting her slide down my body until she was on her feet. She took several breaths with her hands on her knees before smacking us.
Nicholas pulled her in for an intense kiss, practically sucking her face off, and then bid her goodnight. I did nearly the same thing, using my grip on her ass to keep her to me as long as possible before I had to let her go.
When she sauntered out of the kitchen, hips swaying like the temptress she was, Keir cleared his throat. He was holding his phone in his hand.
“Ida’s got nothing so far.”
I sighed and rubbed my face with my hand.
“We’ve got to figure something out,” Nicholas said. I could feel the anxiety seeping from him, or maybe from me. I couldn’t tell, but our twin thing made the feeling even more intense. We were worried for our girl and the trial that awaited her.
“I sent her after a lead for a spell that might help us, but there’s only one person who can do what we need.” He grabbed two glasses and filled them with water. “She should get back to me late tonight or tomorrow morning. She’s been working night and day to help Lillian; I don’t doubt she’ll come through for us.”
“I’ll search tonight too,” Nicholas responded. “Not like I have anything else to do. We have to findsomethingfor her.”
“Make sure shesleeps, Keir,” I said.
He stopped and gave me a pointed look before smirking and shrugging his shoulders. “I can’t deny her if she asks for it…” He chuckled. “You two know how hard it is to tell her no.”
Before I could tell him to fuck off and keep it in his pants, as he did with us many times, he walked out, cackling like an evil bastard.
“Asshole.”
My twin laughed at my dismay and pulled out his phone, diving into his research. After chugging a glass of water, I sat at the table with him and began looking for options as well. There was something out there that could help her. There had to be.
Chapter 47
Lillian
“Ida is meeting us at the lake. She said she found something to help you,” Keir told me as the driver pulled away from the building.
Keir sat in his seat along the back while I sat to one side, Nicholas and Aiden on the other. I was getting used to limos, the luxury of seeing everyone and moving around.
I wiped my sweaty hands on my thighs. I was wearing the wetsuit Keir had a tailor make for me. It was black like the other outfit, but this one was insulated. It was covered in more swirling purple designs to help hide the outline of the dagger he helped me hide this morning. It felt like a second skin, soft against my body.
“Hey, try to relax, baby.”
I gave Nicholas my best attempt at a smile, but my heart was pounding loudly in my ears.
Princess…Keir’s voice entered my head.
I looked at him, finding his eyes darkening. He looked like a monster who craved my flesh. The night he took me to the portal, when he licked my blood from my palm, flashed through my mind. The act had filled me with an unexpected thrill. Watching my blood smear on his lips, knowing he was tasting me in a way no one ever had before, made me drunk with lust.
I’ll do it again if you want me to.
I sucked in a breath, trying my best to keep it quiet, even though I knew there would be no judgment from the twins. It felt like a secret, one I wanted to keep between us for now.
