EPILOGUE
SPIDER
“I don’t knowif I will ever get used to the fact you are shacked up with my fucking sister,” Acid comments.
“I don’t give a shit whether you do or don’t. I ain’t letting her fucking go for anyone,” I tell him.
He smiles. “Well, she’s finally happy, so I guess I will have to put up and shut up.” He laughs.
“It could be worse. It could have been Scar.” Hawk snorts behind me. Acid and I both turn around and glare at him, to which he holds up his hands. “Just saying that it was a possibility.”
“You ready?” Ghost asks, coming up to me and slapping my shoulder. I roll my neck, exhaling.
“I’m fucking ready.” I nod.
He smiles. “Good, because I’ve got a lot of fucking money on your ass,” he states.
“Oh shit, you better win, or Star will have his fucking ass.” Beast coughs back his laughter.
“Not fucking likely. She placed a bigger bet than him.” I smirk.
“What?” Ghost asks.
“Good evening, you sexy motherfuckers!” Rev greets over the microphone. “Have you missed me?” he jokes. “Who am I fucking kidding? Of course you have! Tonight, I’ve got a spectacular treat for you. He’s had a break, he’s well rested, and he’s back here tonight to give you a show. He’s the champ, the one and fucking only, SPIDER!” Rev roars down the mic.
“Sorry Pres, you’ll have to fucking ask her yourself.” I smile before walking into the ring, leaving Ghost confused. Until he hears a familiar voice.
“Yeah! Go Spider, fuck him up!” Star yells at the top of her lungs. I look over to Ghost when he sees not just Star, but all the ol’ ladies, as well as Rose, Rip’s ol’ lady from the Satan’s Outlaws, and her sister Lily. Maggie had invited them.
Nova wanted me to stop fighting, worried that one day I would be the one hurt or worse, but deep down she understood why I needed to fight. It was something I couldn’t control. It was the only thing in my entire life that I could control. I knew how to fight, and I was fucking good at it. So, I made her a deal. I would fight, but she demanded to be here to watch. I agreed, but I wanted her safe, so I told Rev that if he wanted me to keep fighting, then he needed to make it so that Nova can come to watch, or I won’t be able to fight because I’d be too distracted and worried about her. So instead, he roped off an exclusive VIP area just for her and the ol’ ladies.
I give Nova a wink, making her smile. Looking across, I see Rip, his cousin Blake, and a few of the Satan’s Outlaws brothers placing bets. Ghost spots them and they greet each other with a smile. There was a time when we would have slaughtered each other, but that all stopped when Maggie and Cash hooked up.
“He’s 8 and 0, and he’s travelled all the way from England. He ain’t no gentleman. Mr. Darcy, he’s not! He’s big, he’s bald, he’s an ugly fucker. It’s the one the only HEADCASE!” Rev yells, reading the cue card. A big bald guy enters the ring, and he lookslike he’s at least 10 years older than me. He’s overweight and looks unfit. I’ve fought and knocked out many like him before. He’s won his fights from his size, and by the look in his eyes, he thinks he’s got this fight in the bag, too.
I smirk. This fucker has no idea what he’s got coming. The bell rings out and he steps towards me. I don’t move from my spot, wanting him to take his swing. I don’t have to wait long before the fucking moron swings his large fist. I duck and launch my right fist in an upper cut, catching him completely off guard. He stumbles back, blinking his eyes and shaking his head. I smile at the surprised look on his face. I’m not a small guy by any means, but this big fucker isn’t used to getting his ass handed to him.
“Come on Spider, knock him out!” Star screams across the crowd.
“Smash his fucking face in!” Rose yells.
I smile as he comes for me again. This time he thinks he can outsmart me by swinging his left, but I can read this guy like a fucking book. I swerve out of the way and smash my fist into the side of his cheek. His spit and blood flies across the ring from impact. I don’t hesitate. I upper cut him with my left, watching as his head flies back, his body rocking unsteady on the balls of his feet.
“Timber!” Star yells, laughing as he falls face first, hitting the ground.
Everyone cheers and Rev holds my arm in the air. “Your champion!” he roars. “I thought I told you to make it last longer,” Rev hisses quietly at me.
“Give me an opponent who can fucking last longer,” I counter.
After the fight, I collect my earnings, and we all ride back to the club. Spirits are high and Star wants to party and celebrateher winnings, so she invited the entire Satan’s Outlaws to join us.
As we approach the gates to the club, Nova points across the parking area. “Who is that?” she asks.
We come to a stop, and I quickly get off. “Stay there,” I order. As we walk towards the gate, a woman is standing there, looking anxious.
“Sorry, I, I didn’t know where else we could go,” she apologises.
Acid steps forward. “Rhea?” He frowns.
