“Ow! Fucking bitch!” he hisses. “Give me that fucking thing,” he growls, trying to snatch the knife from my hands. He manages to take it and throws it across the room.

“Get off me!” I scream, trying to kick out, but it’s no use. They have my ankles in a tight grip. I twist and look at the cell in the wardrobe as they drag me out of the room. “Luca!” I scream.

“Shut up, bitch,” one of them snaps. Rearing his fist back, he slams it into my face. My vison blurs as I struggle to stay conscious.

“Easy, I still have money to make from her. Don’t go damaging the goods,” Dean chastises. He leans down over me, his face close to mine. My eyes roll back at the dizziness. “Welcome home, my girl,” he beams. “Get her in the truck. They will be here in minutes,” Dean warns, and they do as he says, quickly stuffing me in the back seat of the truck.

I driftedin and out of consciousness in the back of the truck. No matter how hard I tried to stay awake, my eyes felt too heavy. I sit up squinting, my eyes adjusting to the light.

“Nice of you to join us,” Dean says. I look to the left and see him sat in an armchair, a glass of whiskey in his hand. “It’s not like you to put up a fight. Normally you were very accommodating,” he states.

“That’s because you drugged me,” I snap back. “Where are we?” I ask, looking around a nice looking apartment.

He smirks as he pulls out a little baggy from his pocket. “A nice little rental I’ve hired, just while we are here, but now that I have you, I will be cutting our stay short,” he states, smiling. “If this is all it takes to get you back to work, then why don’t you take some right now? I mean, you have a lot of work to do to pay me back what you stole.”

“I’m not giving you anything. I am not yours,” I seethe.

He moves quickly, his hand wrapping around my neck. “You are mine. I own you. Do you hear me? You think your new boyfriend will come and rescue you? Do you?” he sneers, squeezing my neck tighter. I choke, struggling for breath. “He won’t come, none of them will. They are scattered in tiny little pieces.” He smiles.

“What…” I choke out. “… Did you do?” I gargle.

Dean smiles before he releases his grip on my neck. I fall forward, gasping for air.

“Bring them in,” I hear him demand as I desperately draw in oxygen.

“Get your motherfucking hands off me!” I hear Star protest.

“You’ve royally fucked up, do you know that?!” Maggie protests.

Two of Dean’s men shove them forward and they stumble towards me, falling to the ground. We grab each other in tight hug.

Star looks at my face and the fresh mark on my neck. “You okay?” she asks.

“Yeah, I’m so sorry,” I apologise.

“Shh, you’ve got nothing to be sorry about. Be strong. Don’t show him any weakness,” Star advises, giving me a small smile. Maggie gives my hand a squeeze.

“Well, isn’t this lovely? I am sorry I spilled the beans before you both got here, but I did miss out some of the other information.” He presses something on his phone and turns it around to face us. “I will just let you watch this, then I am happy to answer any questions you may have.” He grins.

We watch a video, and it’s them. Spider, Ghost, Acid, Cash, all of them stood by a motel. We continue to watch as Ghost, Spider, and Acid walk up some steps towards a room, only for them to start to walk back down. A huge explosion shows them being catapulted across the parking lot, followed by smog and smoke from the explosion covering the entire parking lot. Dean then places his phone back in his cell pocket.

“Wait! Are they okay? We need to know if they are alive,” I plead desperately.

Star grabs my hand. “They are alive,” she says with such certainty.

“How do you know that?” I ask, my voice breaking.

She smiles a small smile. “Because Ghost would never leave me, even in death. He’s too fucking stubborn to die, and I’m too fucking stubborn to let him,” she states, emotion thick in her voice. She turns back around to face Dean. “You do realise you have kidnapped the Vice President’s ol’ lady, the President’s ol’lady, and the cousin of the President of the Satan’s Outlaws MC, who is also the ol’ lady of a brother of the Black Hearts MC. You will be dead before the end of the day,” Star says cheerfully, like she’s giving someone the best news of their life.

Dean’s gaze flickers to one of his men. “You failed to inform me of this.”

“You told us to get the two women, and get rid of the old one,” the guy defends.

I look at Star. “Queenie?” I ask, worried.

She nods. “It’s okay. She will be okay,” Star assures me, but I’m not sure if she’s trying to convince me or herself.

Dean stands and goes toe to toe with the guy. “You were supposed to do your research; watch them and take notes of who they are and what their connections were. Do you not think that when the remaining Black Hearts MC members find out about this that they won’t come for us?” Dean presses.
