I don’t respond. I just roll around on the floor, trying to not throw up.

“Get her before she ends up in fucking trouble,” Ghost orders Beast and Rage. Leaning over me, he reaches down and holds out his hand. “See what happens when you fuck someone you shouldn’t?” Ghost says, fighting back a smirk. The smug fucker.

I take his hand and he helps me to my feet. Leaning over, I rest my hands on my knees, taking in some deep breaths. “Yeah, I’m starting to see,” I wince.

“Come on, before she ends up in fucking trouble, or she gives one of the brothers a right hook,” he jokes.

Stepping outside of the house, we look up and down the street, seeing no sign of her. “Where the fuck has she gone?” I ask.

Rage walks over to us. “Can’t see where she’s gone. There ain’t no way she’s got far. We were right behind her,” he points out.

“Check again. You go left with the others, we will go right,” I state.

Rage nods and jogs over to Beast and Hawk, while Ghost and I head right. I notice a few curtains twitching. “Bet they’re wondering what the fuck is going on,” I state.

Ghost shrugs. “You should be used to this shit by now. They see the cut and judge first, ask questions later. What made you buy a house in the burbs? You know they ain’t going to take kindly to a biker living here. They want the accountant husbands and the stay-at-home moms that bake cookies and are on the PTA,” he points out.

“Yeah I know, but I liked the house, and maybe a part of me wanted to feel like the accountant and his family. Never had the normal life. Wanted a taste to see what it’s like, I guess.” I shrug. Ghost stops and stares at me. “What?” I ask.

“Who the fuck are you?” he snaps.

I shake my head and laugh. “It’s still me, Pres.”

“No fucking way. There is no way my VP wants that. You fight with your fists. Hell, you fuck anything with a pulse. Don’t think I don’t know about the fucking orgy that happened at the club a few months back. You forget we got cameras?” Ghost asks.

I shake my head. “Did I, fuck. I don’t give a shit who sees me. That night was fucking epic.” I smile at the memory.

Ghost laughs and shakes his head. Stopping, we look around. “There ain’t no way she’s managed to get out of our sight on foot,” I state. “We’ve just walked 10 houses down and there ain’t no sign of her. Come on, let’s go back and get our bikes,” I add. Ghost nods in agreement. “Glad to know I’m no longer in your shit books,” I comment as we walk back.

“Oh, you’re still fucking in it,” Ghost states before he stops and frowns. “You hear that?” he asks.

I pause and listen, hearing the sound of rumbling close by. “Sounds like a bike,” I state.

We walk slowly back towards my house and see Beast, Rage, and Hawk walking back towards my house too, obviously hearing it as well. I spot my garage door slowly opening, and realisation hits.

“It’s my fucking bike!” I yell and start to run. As I get closer to the house, Nova speeds out of the garage on my bike. She turns, riding past the others, wobbling as she struggles to control the bike. “She will fucking kill herself,” I state as I jump on Hawk’s bike and ride after her.

“Hey, get off my fucking bike!” Hawk yells as I speed past him.

Nova hears me approaching and as she turns around to look at me, the bike wobbles beneath her. I pull down on the throttle, gaining on her. “Nova, stop before you get yourself killed,” I yell as I pull up to the side of her.

She takes one hand off the handlebar and raises her middle finger, flipping me off before taking a sharp right turn. The bike tyre skids out behind her and she struggles, but thank fuck she manages to regain control.

“For fuck’s sake!” I hiss, speeding after her, hoping I can stop her before she hits the crossroad. “Nova!” I yell. She doesn’t slow down, and the crossroad is fast approaching. “Fucking stop!” I yell. She suddenly slams the brakes on, too hard and too fast, causing her to lose control of the bike. She falls, skidding across the tarmac, while my bike continues sliding in the other direction, but I all I care about is her. I slow as I approach, skidding to a stop and jump off the bike. “Nova?” I call.

She groans as she rolls onto her back. Her skirt is practically shredded, and the side of her stomach, arms and cheek are all grazed.

“Jesus,” I mutter. “Why the fuck would you do that?” I ask her, pulling out my cell to ring Ghost. She looks away, not answering me. “Down by the crossroad. Get someone tobring the pick-up, because my bike is fucked,” I say before disconnecting. A car approaches and starts beeping. “Don’t move,” I order. Standing, I get to my feet and walk to the car. The guy sat in the front is in a suit and a Bluetooth earpiece in his ear, making him look like a fucking twat. I gesture for him to put his window down. He rolls his eyes but does it.

“You going to move this shit out the way or what? I have a meeting to get to,” he complains. I frown and pretend to not understand what he’s saying. Leaning in closer, I cup my ear and gesture for him to repeat. He huffs and leans up slightly out of his window. “I SAID, ARE YOU GOING TO MOVE THIS—” He doesn’t finish the sentence as I grab him by the collar and slam my fist in his face, knocking his ass out in one hit.

“Fucking pussy,” I spit before walking back over to Nova. She is sat up, her hands shaking in her lap. I bend down and pick her up, causing her to hiss in pain. “Sorry sweetheart, but I need you in a safe place before that prick comes around and tries to run you over,” I apologise.

I sit down on the sidewalk and wait for the brothers to arrive. I don’t dare put her down. I keep her cradled in my arms, wondering why the fuck she would do something like this.
