“Awesome!” I yell over my shoulder and start pulling out lots of ingredients.

Chapter Eleven

“Dinner!” I yell. It turned out Gaige’s kitchen was loaded with baking ingredients. When I was digging through the back of the cupboard I found an old mixer and I may have screamed with excitement and made Gaige crap his pants thinking I had cut a finger off.

Gaige walks in smiling.

“Do take a seat sir. Tonight, your taste buds will be alive with pleasure.” I twirl with the towel.

“Smells good, what is it?” He asks.

“I have made you a traditional English roast dinner. You have slow cooked minted lamb, seasoned roast potatoes, sausage meat stuffing, and pigs in blankets, which are usually for Christmas but I got excited. Oh, and not forgetting Yorkshire puddings! Accompanied by a selection of seasonal veg.” I state as I point to each dish.

I sit next to him.

“Come on then, eat up.” I elbow him, grinning.

“Oh shit, I forgot.” I jump up and grab a dish and place it down.

“What's that?” He asks.

“Mint sauce.” I state as I pour a load onto my lamb.

“But we’ve already got gravy.” He states.

“Yes but it’s delicious. Trust me. Hhmm.” I moan.

He shrugs and pours a small amount onto his lamb. I watch him try it and smile when he nods.

“See! Anyway, cheers to new beginnings.” I smile.

Gaige grabs his beer bottle and clinks it with my water.

“No wine tonight?” He asks.

“Um no, funnily enough my stomach isn’t really feeling alcohol right now.” I state, shovelling food into my mouth.

“But it’s ready for that.” He smiles pointing to my plate.

“Oh yeah, stodgy food is the best cure for hangover. Normally it would be a takeout but a roast will do. If I were really hungover and dying I wouldn’t have been able to do this.” I state.

“Stodgy food?” He asks.

“Yeah, like high fat, sugar, and carbs to soak up the alcohol.”

“Ah okay.” Gaige smiles and continues eating.

When we finish I go to clear up the plates.

“Sit down. You made the dinner, I will clear up.” Gaige orders and takes the plates to the sink.

“Holy hell I think I just had an orgasm.” I blurt out.

Gaige bursts out laughing and shakes his head.

“Is there any thought process before you speak?” He asks.

I laugh.
