“It’s no big deal.” He shrugs.
I get up and walk to him and sit on his lap and wrap my arms around his neck.
“It’s a very big deal; it means you care and love me and the baby a hell of a lot. I bet you most fathers-to-be wouldn’t do that.” I state and kiss him.
“I just feel like I need to do what I can to help in any way I can.” He explains.
“I love you.” I whisper.
He smiles and kisses me.
“I love you too.” He replies.
Over the next few weeks we move all of my things into Gaige’s place. I decide to leave my couch as I think it will be great for the café area.
I rang Sally and told her about me moving in with Gaige. She said she would be booking herself on a flight soon to get herself a decent Canadian man. I tried telling her that Gaige was American but she wasn’t having any of it.
“You ready to go?” Gaige asks, leaning against the doorway.
“Do you always have to look all macho, alpha, and hot?” I sigh.
Gaige smirks.
“Beautiful, I’m just in jeans and t-shirt.” He shrugs.
“I know but you have this aura to go with it. LikeI'm going to grab my woman, throw her over my shoulder, while I chop wood and rescue kittens from a burning building. You know, that sort of thing.” I say while doing my best deep voice.
Gaige laughs.
“Whatever you say. Now come on or we will be late.”
“Okay I’m coming. I feel fat, nothing fits me anymore.” I huff and stand, poking at my small round bump.
“Shut up woman. You’re beautiful and pregnant, now get that ass moving or we will be late.” He kisses me and starts pulling me out of the door.
“Don’t tell me what to do Gaige Knox. I am a woman, I have my own mind.” I warn.
“Don’t I know it.” Gaige mumbles quietly.
“What did you just say?” I snap.
“I said I love you! Now get into the truck.” He winks, opening the door for me.
“Yeah that’s what I thought you said.”
Gaige slaps my behind as I climb into the truck.
“Bastard.” I smile and shake my head. He winks at me as he rounds the truck.
We drive and park up at the hospital.
“Ready for this?” I ask.
“More than ready.” He leans over and kisses me.
We are soon seen to. It’s a different doctor today. She has a feel of my stomach and smiles.
“Well I think everything seems fine. You should start to feel little flutters, the baby moving, soon.” She smiles.
