Page 32 of Make Me Feel Again

She’s yours. Go and make her happy.

I allow myself to take her in again, my gaze tracks her body. How dare she leave the house looking like this; she is mine. I can only see this much skin. She should only dress like this for me. I close my eyes again and I grit my teeth as I take staggered breaths. Rylee has been testing me lately, I had eyes on her every single day, but one day poof! She was gone. Just like that and then days later she was back again. I found out a week later she had gone to that fucking holiday Jace was showing me the night he died. It made me sick to my stomach when I found out she had gone there. I found myself outside Casey’s on one of the nights, I needed to calm myself and I knew she would help but after letting myself into her apartment, she wasn’t there. It was a shame, she would have really helped. I don’t think I can wait any longer.

Calm down, you don’t want to make her sad.

My eyes flicker open, but she’s gone. Where the fuck is she. My eyes frantically look around the front of the building, and then snag on her getting in a car. Fuck! I grab my car keys out of my pocket but as I go to take another step towards my car, I hear a bang and spin around, ducking behind a pillar.

Cash.

I watch him desperately looking around. This cunt isn’t having her, I’m not having another Stiles man take what is mine. Soon enough, I will have her. Maybe not tonight, but soon.

Chapter twenty-eight

Cash

Walkingoutofthebuilding, I look both ways but don’t see her. Fuck, she can’t have gone far. I jog down the stairs. It’s taken a lot for Rylee to get her head around everything. She has a right to be pissed, but I just got her, and now she’s slipping through my fingers again. I get my phone out of my pocket and dial her number. It rings twice before going to voicemail. “For fuck’s sake.” I sigh. I can only assume she is heading back to her apartment.

The streets are quiet, due to the time, but she promised if she ever traveled on her own it would be where there are people around. It’s eerily quiet, and I don’t like that she is by herself. I order an Uber, which is in front of me within two minutes. It’s not far to Rylee’s, but I just hope that is where she’s gone, I can’t imagine she’d go anywhere else. I don’t have the key to her apartment on me, so what are the chances of her letting me up? Zero.

The Uber pulls up to Rylee’s, and her lights being on relaxes me. My phone rings for the third time since being in the taxi. Bridget won’t stop calling. The auction is the least of my worries. I have one person on my mind, and I’m not settling until I have her in my arms.

I press her buzzer and wait. She doesn’t pick up the intercom or let me in, but this is what I expected. My phone reads ten o’clock, it’s a bit late, but I’m desperate, so I ring Miss Dainty. She is an older lady who Jace used to do odd jobs for, and when Jace died, I asked her to keep a special eye on Rylee for me, which she was more than happy to do. I press her buzzer, feeling shitty because of the time, but if I wait for someone to let me up, then I could be waiting all night.

“Hello.” Her sweet voice comes through the intercom.

“Miss Dainty, it’s Cash Stiles. I’m so sorry it’s so late, ma’am, but would you mind letting me up, I’m a bit worried about Rylee.”

“Of course, my dear, and don’t be silly. I was just watching some good old TV while eating some biscuits.” She cuts off the intercom and buzzes me in.

I take the stairs two at a time, until I’m outside Rylee’s door, and raise my hand to knock but I freeze. I know her well enough to know she won’t let me in. I glance over my shoulder as my eyes snag on Miss Dainty’s door, knowing full well she has a key to the apartment. I try internally talking myself down from doing this, but I have no other choice. I walk over, giving the door a gentle knock. She answers the door, her hair in rollers, and she’s wrapped up in a big fluffy dressing gown.

“Cash, my dear, are you okay?” Her brows furrow as she searches my face.

“I really am sorry to bother you again, Miss Dainty, but Rylee isn’t answering her phone or the door, so I’m worried about her. Would you mind letting me borrow the key to let myself in.” She walks away to grab the key. I know this is a shitty move, but I have no idea how else I will get into her apartment. Hopefully she doesn’t have the deadlock on.

“Here you go,” she says, grabbing my hand and placing the key in my palm.

I offer her an appreciative smile. “Thank you. I will drop the key back tomorrow so I won’t bother you again tonight.”

She waves her hand at me. “Don’t worry about me, if anything is wrong, please let me know. I hope she’s okay.” Her face scrunches in worry.

“I’m sure she’s fine, it’s probably just me overthinking. Night, Miss Dainty, and thank you again.” I wave to her as I walk toward Rylee’s door and make sure she is out of sight and in her apartment before I let myself in. Who knows how Rylee will react to my entrance.

The last thing I want to do is scare her, so I shout her name when my foot crosses the threshold. She’s stomping toward me, so I get myself in and close the apartment door.

“What the fuck? Do you just walk around with my key or something.” Her big eyes roam my face, full of rage, but I can tell see she’s been crying.

“Rylee, I—” She puts her hand up and closes her eyes while taking a deep breath.

“I don’t want to hear your bullshit, Cash. Leave.” She spins on her heels and strides away from me. I follow her into the kitchen.

“I said leave.” She grits through her teeth.

“You should know me well enough to know that’s not going to happen.” I stay back, even if every fiber of my being wants to wrap her up and hold her.

“Why,” she shouts as she spins to me. “Why the fuck did you do what you did tonight and then put yourself up to go on a date with another woman?”

“It was for charit—”
