As my Dad walked me down the makeshift aisle, I began to hyperventilate, and my arm tightened around his. He slowed down and looked at me. I glanced behind me, but Sapphire was too busy tossing flowers in the air. I turned back towards my Dad.
“What’s wrong, princess? I can get the jet fuelled up, and we can go back home,” he said.
“Dad! It’s not that I want this to be perfect, and I’m so nervous about saying my vows,” I said as I began to take deep breaths.
I glanced over my Dad’s shoulder and saw the concern on Cyrus’s face. My brother Samuel stood near Cyrus and he was looking puzzled. All of my family were seated and staring, too.
“You said you—loved him, right?”
I glanced back at Cyrus, and my ass clenched around the thick plug inside it, and I smiled.
“Yeah, Dad, I love him.”
He let out a heavy sigh. I think he would have been happier if I said I didn’t love him.
“Then you could stutter or forget the words because nothing will matter except for the fact that once you've finished them, you get to be married. You are a Molloy through and through. I know you're stronger than you think you are.”
I put my hand on my Dad’s face and rubbed his beard. I remembered all the time he spent in the gym and floor mats with me teaching me how to fight. He was the best girl dad there was.
“Thanks, Dad. I love you.”
“I know you do, baby. It’s because I’m awesome. Now, let’s get you to this ape. Hopefully, his genes are too weak to be carried forward,” he said with a grimace.
I grinned at him as we began to walk again because his genes were already inside of me.
Chapter 34
Cyrus
My heart thumped so hard against my chest when Emilia stopped halfway towards me that I thought I would lose my shit and drag her to the makeshift altar. I tugged on my collar and watched her as she spoke to her Dad. She put her hand on his cheek and said something to him before he replied to her. They turned toward the aisle again and began to walk towards me. It was only then that I could breathe again.
Her white dress made her look like an angel floating towards me. The billowing light material danced around her as walked. The dress was cinched in at her waist, but it only highlighted the generous curves of her breasts. Beneath her veil, I could see her long dark hair was left out. I wanted to tear the veil off so I could see her gorgeous dark eyes.
Her Dad helped her up. I moved forward to take her hand, but her Dad narrowed his eyes at me. I waited as they stood before me. I glanced at Emilia, who was looking at her Dad. When he didn't hand her over, I was about to take her from him when Emilia nudged him. He reluctantly lifted her hand before he placed it on mine.
“Remember what I said,” he said before he kissed the top of Emilia’s head.
I kept my eyes on him until he joined his family. Once the nuisance was gone, I gazed at my perfect Angel, and her hand tightened around mine. I lifted her veil, and I felt a variety of emotions because she looked ravishing. Unable to help myself, I lifted her hand and kissed it just above her engagement ring.
“You look perfect, Angel,” I whispered as the pastor began the ceremony.
She smiled and mouthed thank you.
It wasn't long until it was time for me to say my vows. I glanced at Samuel, who held our rings. He was nineteen, but nothing like his Dad so I’d asked him to present the rings for us. Connor was just as pleasant. In fact, all of her family was, except for her Dad. I didn’t know how to speak to her little sister since I’d not been around children before, but she was a happy little girl who was engrossed in playing with her cousins. She was more like her Mom than her Dad.
I took her ring from the pillow and held it for a moment. This was it. I would never look at another woman again, and I smiled because I didn't want to. My eyes flicked towards Emilia’s, and any nerves about saying the vows left me.
“Before you crashed into my life, I’d forgotten what love was,” I said as I placed a hand on her cheek. “Emilia, my Angel, you revived my cold dead heart. You brought light back into my life. I vow to love, care, and protect you as well as our children for as long as I live. In these vows, I promise you that I will never waver. You are the missing piece of my soul, the only woman for me and the only one I love. My wife.”
I slipped her platinum and diamond ring onto her finger. When I glanced back at her, she had a watery smile and I knew it was because it was the first time I told her that I loved her, but I was glad it was on our wedding day. I carefully wiped her tears away with my thumbs. She took my ring from Samuel with a smile.
“The first time I saw your eyes staring back at me, my heart skipped a beat. With one photograph, I became your secret stalker. After fiddling with a few wires and armed with aluminium foil, I broke into your house to ensure I had your full attention,” she said as I gaped at her mischievous smile.
“That's our girl!” Valeria shouted, causing Emilia to smile.
“From the day we first met, I knew we were kindred spirits. Today, on our wedding day, I vow that I will love every part of you until the last breath leaves my body. My devotion to you, our marriage, and our children shall never perish. You're mine, Cyrus Wicke, just as I am yours. My husband,” she said softly as she slipped the ring on my finger.
As soon as I had permission to kiss her, I grabbed her waist and dipped her down before I devoured her mouth. Her hand clung to my neck and forearm, and she kissed me back with just as much passion. I ignored the pastor, who kept clearing his throat and Samuel, who asked us to come up for air with a snigger. It didn't matter to me that she came attached to a crazy family.
