“This is an interesting song,” I say. A man with a soothing voice is singing about sailing.
“Interesting, how?”
“He sounds like he knows what that feels like, to sail on a boat.”
“I think it’s a metaphor for love, but yeah, I’m sure the singer has been on a few yachts in his lifetime. He was pretty successful in his heyday.”
We continue swaying to the music. I think I’m doing all right. I’ve never danced to a slow record before, not like this.
“Nice,” I say wistfully.
“Would you want to sail one day?”
“Me?” I say incredulously.
“Yes, you.”
“I mean... if you’re offering.”
His lips bend toward my ear.
“I’m offering you whatever you’ll accept from me, Megan.”
I look up at his serious eyes and suddenly suspect just how much trouble I’m really in. I’m falling for my boss, my landlord, my protector, my own personal genie in a bottle.
And I’m falling hard.
Chapter 48
That Was Epic!
MEGAN
Iinitiate a kiss that starts soft but grows into a passionate exchange between us that finds us in his bedroom. When he lifts me and places me on his massive bed, I look up at the skylight. It’s been replaced, and it looks like nothing ever happened in this room. It distracts me from Hunter for a moment with its view of the full moon.
“Where are you right now?” Hunter asks.
“On the moon,” I answered wistfully.
“And what are you doing on the moon when you’re right here with me?”
“I bet it’s quiet there.”
“Probably.”
“I bet no one could hear me there,” I say, unzipping the size of my dress.
“Let me do that,” he tells me in a deep, thick voice. “Let me do everything.”
Within moments, my dress and bra are on the floor and Hunter begins to worship the skin right underneath one of mybreasts. Feathering kisses. Whispering incomprehensible sweet words into my skin.
“Lay down,” I tell him. I don’t want to stare at the moon any longer.
Only him.
He shockingly obeys me, and I unfasten his designer belt and unzip his slacks, tugging them down his strong legs.
The bulge in his boxer briefs struggles to push through the fabric as I straddle him. He tries to push them down on his own before I get settled in, but I grab a hold of his wrists to stop him.
