I shifted and hated how cold I felt as I moved away.

“Fine. If you insist. The dress designer will be here soon, I guess was my point,” I said and forced myself to head toward the shower.

“What do you mean the designer?”

I loved the way she came up behind me and wrapped her arms around my middle as I turned on the shower.

“What I said. The designer. She’s a sister of one of our guys and very talented.”

I turned around and watched Cali’s mouth open and close but nothing came out.

“I can’t afford that,” she said finally.

I took her hand and pulled her into the now warm water.

“I love you, Calliope. If I choose to spend the money that cost me far more than just my youth, let me.”

She shifted, and after far too many seconds, she pulled out of my embrace.

“Okay. Sure. But then I get to pay you back the way I see fit.”

My molars ached as I clenched my jaw.

“Cali, you do not—” I shut the fuck up as she sank to her knees and took my cock in her mouth.

I was sitting there, waiting for her to come out. This couch was getting to be unbearably uncomfortable, or maybe it was my patience that was wearing thin.

Cali finally emerged back in the robe instead of the dress she was supposed to be trying on.

“I like that dress,” said Rylee. Three racks of dresses were now in our garage. The designer, who we had singlehandedly risen to fame, was beaming with pride.

“Thank you for coming on such short notice,” Zeid said to the young girl and her assistant.

“Anything for the Spectors. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. Now, about masks. I can have custom masks designed to match the gowns once these two women decide on a style and color. Are you sure we don’t have enough time to do custom gowns too?”

Zeid was shaking his head.

“No. The show has been moved up thanks to the fickle needs of the artist.”

I rolled my eyes at that.

Cas wasn’t fickle, but Zeid was just as much a part of the designs as I was, and I’d say he was being a fickle little bastard.

“This one? The iridescence really brings out the rainbows in my hair.”

Cali was playing with her hair now.

“Do we have time to dye it? I need to do something, well, less.”

I really hated the idea of her changing her hair up, but I couldn’t deny the rainbow was an easy target. Though it had saved her life once.

Rylee pushed Cali back toward the little mobile curtained booths set up as a changing room.

This was the only way Cas and I were willing to let either woman shop.

Minutes passed.

“Calliope, you looked amazing in the last dress. Please just come here and show us.” Damn, was I begging?
