The dog looked almost like a Rottweiler with black and tan coloring, though there was something ‘not quite a dog’ about the beast. The fur was short enough to show every muscle on its body, and I had no doubt that the animal could kill me if it wanted to.

The Cerberus, aka Kiko, wagged its tail, giving my exposed leg a lick before it hopped off the bed, and all three heads glanced over as if they wanted me to follow.

When a demon dog tells you to go somewhere, it isn’t possible to say no.

I got dressed quickly, thankful I had showered before returning to bed. After walking in on the orgy and sitting on Mars’s couch, my skin felt sticky, even though I knew it was my imagination.

The Cerberus led me through the mansion until we reached the same dining room as the morning before. The sun was up, filtering through the windows, but low enough to still be early. I wished I had gotten more sleep, if only because I didn’t want to look Legion in the eye after watching him get his cock sucked the night before.

You don’t need sex. You don’t need intimacy. You’re fine on your own.I repeated my inner mantra. You know what happened last time. It's better this way.

I could keep telling myself that, but last night, Arlo and Sev… had woken me up. I didn’t know if I should hate them for that, though thinking about how the show they had put on the night before made my thighs clench and my core ache.

The dog leaped against the door, somehow dropping the handle with his paws. The door swung open, and Kiko padded through with a swagger as if he owned the place—I wasn’t about to argue with him.

I followed slowly, almost hoping that the dining room was empty.

No such luck.

All the demons I had met the day before had gathered for breakfast.

Legion, Arlo, Trey, and Sev.

Legion sat at the head of the table, just as he had the day before, with his attention on the tablet resting as he scrolled.

Katalina sat by his side, dressed only in a white shirt that must have belonged to Legion. Open enough to show that she didn’t have a bra on, Katalina had maneuvered herself to be as close to sitting on Legion’s lap as she could while still remaining in her own chair.

Despite the late night and her very public activities, Katalina appeared to be wearing a full face of makeup. Either she had a brilliant fixing spray or reapplied before breakfast.

I felt the same sting of jealousy I always did when I found myself lacking.

I told myself to ignore it.

Katalina might be beautiful and able to have lots of sex without making men obsessive and homicidal. Still, she didn’t have a shadow like mine. She probably couldn’t pluck a man’s eyes from his skull—while he was wearing glasses.

Comparison is the thief of joy, as they say.

Sev leaned back in his chair, shooting me a brittle smirk. “Good morning, love.” He pulled out the chair next to him without leaving his seat. “Join me?”

I rolled my eyes but walked over, plopping down in the chair. I kept my eyes on Sev’s chin so I didn’t have to meet his eyes. The wicked little voice inside my brain reminded me we knew what his cock looked like.

“Your dog woke me up,” I said, looking at Legion though his attention was fixed on his screen.

Legion blinked as if sensing my gaze. “My dog?”

“The one with three heads,” I replied dryly.

The demon looked around, but there was no dog in sight. “Kiko guards the grounds. He doesn’t come inside.”

I looked around my feet, but the Cerberus was long gone. I swore I had followed him into the dining room. I turned at the waist to make sure he wasn’t behind me. “I’m not crazy,” I muttered, returning to the table and the abundance of food that made up the feast.

Katalina let out a laugh that sounded like tinkling bells. She hid her snide smile behind her hand. “I would ask if you had a late-night last night, but we probably had less sleep than you, and we’re not seeing things.”

“We?” I cocked my head to the side, with my brow furrowed. I refused to look at Legion as I affected innocence.

Katalina held my gaze before turning to Sev, ignoring me. “It was wonderful to have you back, Sev. It’s been a while since one of your parties.”

Trey, who I hadn’t really noticed until that moment, had his head against the table and appeared to be sleeping. At Katalina’s words, Trey lifted his head slowly and looked the witch up and down before placing his forehead on his forearm. He muttered something that sounded like, “Legion wouldn’t touch you unless it was one of Lust’s parties.”
