“Pétanque,” Knox says. “Look at that guy. Useless.”

“Can we get a game set up?” Levi asked, pointing across the grounds.

“Stick to football.” Hunter slid his hands into his pants. “We’ll slaughter you.”

Atlas grins, adjusting his sunglasses on his head and lays a hand on Knox’s shoulder. “Dufort’s vs. Montgomery’s. Who’s keen?”

“Me.”

“Me.”

“Me.”

Every single male in the group answers almost automatically.

“Here we go.” Harper rolls her eyes. “Ladies, let’s get a drink and get comfortable.”

“I want to play,” I say.

“Yeah?” Atlas smirks. “Okay, but you’re on the Montgomery team.”

I shrug. “Okay.”

“Then I’m in too.” Payton nods. “There are more Dufort’s than us, so you’ll need us.”

“That’s my girl.” Knox pulls her against his chest and kisses her.

Atlas studies me and I shiver under his gaze.

What is he thinking?

Is he that competitive that he’s concerned I’ll lose the game for them, or does he have dirty thoughts in his mind?

I want to know.

But I need to stick with what I said to him last night. What we did was just a one-time thing. It can’t happen again.

I don’t fit this world and I don’t want to get attached to him. I have a feeling I will, and we all know what happens when I fall for a guy.

I get hurt.

No thanks.

“If one of you could follow me, I can get this set up,” the guide says.

Atlas drops his glasses and starts walking. When he passes me, he leans down and says, “Let’s go.”

What?

Almost tripping over my feet I walk with him muttering, “Don’t touch me. You almost had everyone talking earlier.”

“I’m sorry. That was...an accident.”

I shoot him a look.

“Molly,” he growls. “Do not walk away or I’m dragging you into the bathroom to fuck you against the wall.”

Holy hell.
