“Wonderful.” He reached into his jacket and pulled a card out of an inside pocket, handing it to Gage. “Here’s my office number. Call my assistant, Felicia, and she’ll set you up with all the event information, a room, and will make sure you getpaid.”
He took the card and slid it in his back pocket. “Thanks. I’ll give her a call in just abit.”
“Thank you!” Drew clapped him on the back. “You’re doing me a huge favor and just saved my assistant from having to try to find someone on such short notice.” He turned and addressed his brother then. “All right, I’m out of here. If I’m late picking Grace up from school, Hannah will skin me alive!”
A round of goodbyes were exchanged between the three men, and then Ben met Gage’s eyes. “What’s up? You look like dogshit.”
“Gee, thanks, man.” Gage shook his head and ran a hand through his helmet hair, realizing he hadn’t showered in two days. “Want to get a drink or something? I’ve got some shit going on and needed to get the fuck out of my place for a while.”
Ben nodded. “Sure. I can take off. Let me close my office up and we can head out. Want to hit Kenn’s? We can walk fromhere.”
“Sounds good.” Anything but being where he might see or hear from Hope sounded fucking perfect rightnow.
