She chuckles and pats my back. “Love ya too, girl.” With a harder pat, she barks, “Now, we need to get back to work.”
I release her as I nod. “Right. Back to work.”
She smirks. “You have been slacking lately. Do you even remember how to do your job after so much time off?”
I’d throw the notebooks in my hand at her, but then I’d just have to go pick them up. I roll my eyes as I clap to get my guys’ attention. “Let’s prove to Danni that I haven’t forgotten.”
“Yes, boss!” they yell in unison.
Chapter Forty-One
The guys asked for a karaoke night as their reward for last night’s win. I couldn’t argue otherwise, once I saw how excited Vicy and Taz were. So here I am getting ready. I wouldn’t normally dress up as much as I have, but I am officially going out for the first time as Dean and Mac’s girlfriend.
I’d decided to get ready at the common house since we all planned on heading to the bar together. I still have an honorary room here, even though I spend most of my time at my apartment. I’m not alone though. The moment Dean, Mac, and I became official, they moved in with me.
I give myself one last look in the mirror before making my way out the door. While it is cold outside, I know it’s going to get warm with so many bodies crammed in a small area.
I feel sexy in my skinny jeans, black heels, and baby-blue dressy tank. I paired my outfit with my leather jacket. I chose to go with light makeup, and my hair curled and pulled up into a high pony.
Heading into the living room, everyone turns at the sound of my heels clicking across the hardwood floor. Ten pairs of eyeswiden, making me smirk, as I gesture toward the door. “We ready to go?”
Vicy jumps up from the couch with a yip. “Damn, Roe Roe, you clean up nicely.”
I laugh. “Thanks Vicy.”
Taz bumps Deans shoulder as he loudly whispers, “It’s a good thing you locked her down. I’d be tempted to steal her from you if I were a dishonorable man.”
He rolls his eyes before giving me a smile. “You look beautiful, Ice Princess.”
“Thank you.”
Perri claps and calls, “Let’s get going before all the good spots are taken!”
Dean and Mac move over to me, and we make our way out the door. Mac twines his fingers with mine before lifting my hand to his lips."Tu es à couper le souffle, Chérie.”
I smile. “I haven’t got that far in learning my French yet. Considering it’s you who said it though, merci.”
He smiles and helps me into the back of the car. “You’ll be fluent by this time next year.”
Squished between Dean and Mac, I laugh lightly. “That’s the hope.”
Ten or so minutes later, we arrive at the karaoke bar; another few minutes and we are heading inside to find a spot. Before I can even take a seat, I’m thrown over one of the guys’ shoulder.
I let out a squeal of surprise before looking over my shoulder to find that Vicy carrying me, and Taz leads the way to the stage. “Guys! What the hell?”
Vicy laughs. “It’s been months since we’ve done karaoke! We need to hear you sing.”
I roll my eyes as I let whatever this is happen. There's no chance I’ll be able to escape once these two are set on something.
Vicy sets me softly onto the stage before he looks to Taz with a smirk. “She can sing to Lewi and Oli.”
Taz laughs and points to the computer that holds thousands of songs. “You should pick out a song that tells them how you feel.”
I huff out a sigh. “Are you guys seriously trying to play matchmaker? I’ve already got the guys.”
Vicy boops me on the nose. “But have you told them that you love them yet?”
“Yes...”—but then I think about it before groaning— “I told Dean, but it was while you guys rescued me from that house. I never told Mac.”
